In all fairness we have to admit that other modes of transportation do pay VAT on their fuel so why shouldn't aviation? But I think the USA are great supporters of the aviation fuel tax exemption, they will surely discourage Europe from changing the current situation. Besides, if it really is VAT th...

That Catalina makes me regret I didn't come! Anyone knows its whereabouts? ISTR there's a Catalina based at Lelystad EHLE but that was in a quite different c/s..? Besides, this one is looking rather funny with them two big wheels but no nose-wheel - landing like this would be most unfortunate...

I agree on that one, I don't think everybody on this forum is familiar with al the ICAO codes. Thus, it would be userfriendly if this would indeed be possible. Yet, a far easier way of implementing this is a simple request to all members to mention the official name of the airport as well...anybody...

@atlantis & acid_drop: sorry guys but have you read the original msg carefully? it was stated another FR plane landed & took off again (for Venice?) so neither weather nor ILS equipment were an issue.

EBAW: tower frequency changed

Read on www.piloten.be and verified: EBAW TOWER now operates at 135.200 Mhz.
Reminder: listening to ATC in Belgium is only allowed with approved and registered equipment, operated by licensed people!

It seems you have less interest for general aviation, even so may I suggest you keep us posted about the situation of Sabadell airfield? It is very hard to find any info in English about the evolution there.

this is an aviation professional discussion group, and I don't care about Saudi’s way of governing. I am saying that if an airline flying to a country, it should inform its crew about roles and regulations. What to do and what not to do, it is an obligation of employer to protect employees. Absolut...
