What might their growing motivation be? That's the easy part: they are beginning to realise there's more money in Flanders. But you also know that only the Flemish know that Sandra Kim Caldarone and Jo Lemaire speak een aardig mondje Nederlands , because South of the border, that is till taboo. A t...

Me too had really wanted to go and go on push-bike too, given their promise of a special welcome to cyclists. Bart, did you go on bike and if so, what was this famous special welcome? Seeing the forecast however, as a student pilot I judged it wiser not to take the risk - and was shown right: there ...

Because each time I was trying to speak dutch, Flemish people turn the conversation into french, so it was really difficult to make progress. This fact I can confirm from daily experience in a big national institution in Brussels: those French speakers who do make an effort to speak Dutch are often...

EU nationals working in other EU countries should not be a problem, at least according to EU law. EU law imposes free movement of people, goods, and services within the union. Still, a requirement for a basic control of a/the local language seems perfectly legal to me in any labor contract. And as ...

Face it, English is the language of aviation. That's a sure fact, and indeed we have more than once concluded here that ONLY English should be used on ATC - which is not the case today, regrettably. Then again, do not forget that as an airline employee one is not only an aviator, but also an employ...

Re: EZY - BRU

Secondly, the price advantage (ie. the gap) between prices of Ryanair and traditional airlines is unlikely to be affected by an increase in oil prices. The absolute figures will probably change, but as fuel prices increase for everybody in the industry, this will probably not affect the gap between...

An here's another little mistery, plucked from news://uk.rec.aviation While playing with Google Earth, i found a place with two planes overlapping each other: http://213.235.28.68/temp/TwoPlanes.kmz It looks like it is 747, probably 747-400. But i am not sure why there are two planes in s...

Check in 2 hours waiting for the luggage, 30 minutes (Optimist)... in Europ, you can take the TGV for this kind of distance. Business travellers without phones and laptop .. it will be easier...
