Re: Netjets sacks Belgians as law changes block tax dodging

Unfortunately only in French but it says that the European Commision doesn't agree with NetJets: Licenciement chez NetJets en France : "La compagnie compte-t-elle aller jusqu'au bout de sa logique et licencier pilotes français et belges sur un critère aussi discriminant que leur lieu d'affectat...

Emergency landing Avro Brussels Airlines 16 april

Does anyone knows more details about the emergency landing of a Brussels Airlines Avro on 16 april? Apparently one of the engines blew up after takeoff and the aircraft returned to Brussels. The fire brigade was on standby next to the runway. :o :o Strange that there was nothing on this forum about ...

Re: SN's long haul fleet

BruAir prefers the -300 above the -200 because it's a longer aircraft (more volume space for cargo).
Cargo is very important for the African network.

Re: F-104 touch-roll-touch

In 1986, they've tried the same with the Belgian Air Force Mirage V (BD05). During a pracatice of a solo display (done in a double-seater with the instructor in the back), the Mirage V slided during the roll and crashed. The front seat pilot died and the back seat pilot survived. The instructor pilo...

Re: F-104 touch-roll-touch

It was also a very dangerous manouevre. Capt «susse» Jacobs was killed on 2 sept 1968 while doing this. After the roll the afterburner refused to ignite. He tried to save himself with his ejection seat, but he was too low.
Not long after this crash, the Touch-Roll-Touch was forbidden.

LOOKING FOR WING / STABILISER

I'm looking for a wing/stabilizer or large part of it. It must be from a small metal or wooden airplane like a glider, ULM, small Cessna,... I'm interested in the wing with or without the skin, larger than 30 cm and located in Belgium or South Holland. If anyone knows where I can find one then I wil...

Re: SN A330 goes tech in DKR

I dont think you can compare the dispatch reliability of Bru.Airlines with other operators. First of all, the A330's of Bru.Airlines or not the newest ones (in fact one of the first build-serial below 50's) Second, these A330's are only used for flights to Africa where runways are not of the best qu...

How can YOU know the exact figures of B.air's flights?
Flightcrew and ground personnel. People who are on the first line.
May I ask you your source of information please?
A manager. And if you are working for Bru.Air, you would know about the 80%

Re: Brussels Airlines' loadfactor

At the moment it's going very bad with Bru.Air. Load factors on Europe are very low. They never been high but now they are really low. But the worst thing is that they start feeling the crisis on Africa flights too. Flights to Kinshasa (the moneymaker) with around 60 pax are, unfortunately, no excep...

I totally agree with TCAS_climb. I went more than 3 years on a regular basis to Kin and had many friends over there. Nothing works in the DRC. Corruption is everywhere. Quality of work is bad and they don't have the cutlture of maintaining things. And most important, security?? Forget it !! I had a ...
