Re: London Gatwick closed for hours after drone activity around the airfield

From what I’ve read elsewhere, the UAVs in question here seem far from toys. There have been reports of 7+ UAVs in the air around EGKK simultaneously, some reports even mentioned “petrol powered” UAVs. This is a delibarate act to bring one of the UK’s biggest airports to a standstill, not some kid ...

Re: London Gatwick closed for hours after drone activity around the airfield

What a joke
If it only takes a few kids to paralize one or 25 airports, then what ?
How can they make sure it will not happen again tomorrow ?

Same story in french here https://www.lecho.be/economie-politique/belgique/wallonie/alibaba-bloque-fedex-a-liege/10079363.html Lets hope the journalist did this to open everyone's eyes. If nothing is started, nothing is lost. But its now time politics plan on long term instead of enjoying the short ...

Acid-drop wrote: Lgg which will receive "only" 10 flights more per week.
The latest information now mentions 5 to 6 widebodies per day.
That's very different obviously.

Hard to say which airline will benefit from this ... maybe Fedex who discovered alibaba isn't all negative after all

Re: 2018 Liège Airport (LGG/EBLG) latest news

Apparently thr fight was about 22 hectares... Which is weird because LGG has 470 hectares available but the closest to the track the better ofc ;) L'echo mentions Fedex is asking for 110 hectares for expansion before 2040... Vague hidden unwritten plans seldom win. https://www.lecho.be/entreprises/...

Re: Amsterdam flights capped; some cargo operators compelled to move elsewhere

Only fully loaded 747 need the extra runway length, the impact may be limited. Its a political show.
But airlines get the message anyway.

If they piss off one of their biggest client its not a great plan, veto or not...
But fedex should be more clear if they have big plans

Re: 2018 Liège Airport (LGG/EBLG) latest news

I'm not sure we see the whole picture... Alibaba is ground logistics mainly. The amount of planned flights is very low. On the other hand fedex, which may have big plans, has show very little wish for expansion : they keep cologne and paris as global hub. I can understand that adp wants to protect p...
