Re: Brucargo 2024: cargo routes & news
At the Indermodal South America, LATAM Cargo announced 2 new destinations to Europe: Florianopolis in Brazil and Montevideo in Uruguay. Both routes will begin operating in April 2024 and year round. It will be again between AMS and BRU, because of the slot restrictions at AMS but also BRU didn't co...

From this winter, Transavia will fly from Brussels Airport to Gran Canaria. In addition to existing routes such as Alicante and Tenerife in Spain and Faro in Portugal, Transavia will fly this winter from BRU to Thessaloniki in Greece, Bari in Italy and Marrakech in Morocco +65% vs W23 (several freq...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Nothing new, but exactly what is communicated since 2 years. https://simpleflying.com/brussels-airlines-renew-airbus-a320-fleet-before-a330s/ A Africa-hub for North America with only 5 or 6 cities there connected to BRU is certainly a weak offer. Nobody believes UA and AC will open more flight from...

Hainan Airlines is changing the frequenties from Shanghai to Brussels during Winter 24-25. Hainan will fly 3 weekly during Winter instead of 4 weekly during current Summer. Aircraft stays the same, B789 Apparently it also changes this summer from 4 to 3 (cf. Summer 2024 topic) Maybe bcs of competit...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Brussels Airlines can finally demonstrate its strength to Africa Cheap long-haul flights, assistance to subsidiaries or regional transport: Lufthansa has had many half-hearted ideas for SN. Today, there is a plan with substance: SN must develop Africa for the group. The continent is seen as the las...

https://www.aviation24.be/airports/liege/closure-looms-for-liege-airport-following-negative-permit-advice/ The possible cancellation would be due to juridical reasons, not because of a negative advice. Very misleading title. When I read the article correct, the Walloon Minister of Environment has i...

FarCargo launched Faroe - BRU - Billund on 28th March, two flights every Thursday. Cargo onboard is premium fresh salmon from Bakkafrost, harvested in the Faroe Islands. It reminds me years ago of the Korean Air Cargo flights from Canada to BRU with only salmon on board. Those were a few flights pe...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
That is all long haul. I understand (correct me if I ma wrong) that allocating new or additional aircraft to airlines of the LH Group is a "Group" decision. My conclusion is, again, that the top managers of LH Group and SN do not see SN as a priority and do not recognize SN's needs both l...

Also BRU gave a first reaction after analyzing the new permit. The airport is afraid, with those severe restrictions, which were also named by Voka, that the airport cannot grow after 2032. Those restrictions are not in line with the European guidelines. BRU can go in appeal just like AMS is/was do...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
And the first reaction is there from the Brussels minister of environment, Mr Moron.
He will analyse the next coming weeks the new permit. If it is too much against health, he will ask the Brussels government to appeal.
But you can be sure that they will do this.

I hope they will use the opportunity to build a soundwall around the whole airport. There will be a sound wall, at least at the most sensitive areas. And there will also be a soundproof hangar to test jet engines. Indeed, like I wrote already in another topic, the hangar will be build central on th...

The permit is in for indefinite time. There will be no ban on nightflights. As from 2032, the max amount of flights per year will be 240.000. Also more silent weekendnights as from that year and a reduction of 30% of the most loudest flights during the night. There are many other conditions but the...
