Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Brussels Airlines will for sure fly to leisure destinations. As the new Wamos Benelux is taking over 61 shops, they still have to fly those pax. Wamos fleet is too big to do that on their own. So I'm pretty sure that Wamos will take contact with SN to set up a new contract Regarding other plans with...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

A little off-topic, I have a small question: Why Brussels Airlines and Air New Zealand do not work together between BRU and Heathrow (codeshare)? If you would booking a flight between BRU and LAX (for example) with Air New Zealand, you need a connection in LHR Terminal 2 (Star Alliance). But the BR...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

Is there a chance that Emirates starts flying with the A380? In one word: NO! There simply isn't a market for a capacity larger than the two daily 777-300ERs. I understand I will not discuss your knowledge but their market seems huge knowing Brussels has only 5 links to Asia.( even not daily) If yo...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

DL relies heavily on its different joint-ventures and with AF/KL being on of them, there is no place for BRU in the scheme, except for select flights they already offer today. I know, the have very strong bound with AF/KLM, that's why they are also doing very well. They respect each other and grow ...

Re: 2019 Liège Airport (LGG/EBLG) latest news

Saudia Cargo adds Liège Airport to its network https://aircargoworld.com/allposts/saudia-cargo-adds-liege-airport-to-network/ Really sad that they left BRU because of the noise restrictions of the Brussels capital. Cargo is really suffering Not only due to the noise restrictions in this case. I kno...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

Like we could read here in this topic regarding South Afrika and Kenia. Forget about the first one. SAA is in trouble for years and they also axed their IAD route. SN has not the planes. This route could be only 2 max 3 times a week but there are no candidates. Regarding South America. Keep an eye ...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

Keep an eye on Air Senegal. They will announce this week the new destinations for their second A330. For the moment, BRU is not their first priority. What they want to open now is a second French destination, Marseille. The other destinations are Barcelona, Washington and New York. We will know mor...

Re: BRU Winter 2019-2020: news, new routes, airlines

I don't understand why they don't go for 2 flights a day to connect with the long haul flights? If necessary with a smaller plane it's maybe time to add some propeller so they could keep Nantes also and open some new destinations. Knowing there is no restriction in BRU about slots it's really a car...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

Might be possible that an African airline (SN destination) can open in 2020, a route to Brussels. It can be speculation but the airline would like to open there. So not 100% sure. Keep an eye on Air Senegal. They will announce this week the new destinations for their second A330. For the moment, BR...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU): Star Alliance, Oneworld and Skyteam under one roof?

Also LATAM is high on the list DL has taken a big share in LATAM and it will be leaving OneWorld. https://www.luchtvaartnieuws.nl/nieuws/categorie/2/airlines/delta-sluit-miljardendeal-met-zuid-amerikaans-latam Sadly I think that will ruin the prospects of seeing LATAM at BRU, more service at CDG or...

Re: SN has lost the battle of Africa

Well yeah, SN was standing still bcs of the killing EW project. They lost time while others were investing in Africa by opening routes by themself. A lot of companies realise that Africa is a continent of the future. Now you have to invest to harvest later. Certain cities like Kinshasa will become s...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Brussels Airlines cancels more than 100 flights in October to holiday destinations, thereby also affecting 3500 of its own customers: https://www.standaard.be/cnt/dmf20190926_04629854 Like I thought. This routes are not financially viable without a tour operator buying up x amounts of seats Like I ...

I remember how certain people were repeating how profitable those new leisure routes for SN were. And this without any knowledge and background We can see now how it will bring SN further into deep troubles. They can modify already their reboot plan Who could have predicted 2 years ago that TC woul...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

The decision of LH to replace old A330 by newer second hand A330 was long time ago taken. Now the situation is completely different... Oh yes the situation changed, the decision was taken end 2016/early 2017, since then the (structural) financial performance of SN only got worse. And not for reason...
