Yes, I was referring to the pre-xwb 350.

For me, the my main issue with the 350 were the amazing claims that it was an all new unit that'd beat the pants off of the 787. I don't think boeing needs me to cheerlead their product but Airbus's claims seemed unrealistic. I had no doubts it would have been better than the 330 but it seemed unrea...

Basically, I think the problems at Airbus are a shame. I'd love to see that huge, lumbering beast in the sky. I will also enjoy seeing the 747-8. I may even enjoy flying in them as long as airlines give me enough personal room. For those who ordered the 380 with specific deliver dates in mind, it's ...

I think you hit the nail on the head. The name of the game, in business, is to make money. If they can turn a profit with a, relatively, low expense upgrade, why not? I think if Airbus had pushed the first 350 as, merely, an improved 330, instead of as a 787 killer, they'd still have it on the marke...

I think AirTran had the best program. After 3 flights, you get a free flight. You just save your boarding passes. I don't know if they still do that. It sure was easy.

I've never flown on a DC10 or Tristar so I couldn't say. My point is, I couldn't see much of a difference between a 320 and a 737. My impressions, that's all. I'm not saying there isn't one, just that I couldn't spot it.

FF Programs...Best?

I'm sure this topic has been talked about to death but I couldn't find a comprehensive comparison of different frequent flyer programs. What are your opinions? Or even facts? So far, I'm a fan of Air Canada's Aeroplan. The big benefit, to me, is that once you get to Elite status, you get coupons whi...

I do a lot of flying. In the past year, I've been on the 777 (EK, SQ), 330 (LH,AC), 340(LH), 737 800 (OS), 737 500 (PS), 320 (BMI, DONBASS) , 300 (YE), tu154 (B9), crj705 (AC), f50 (KISH AIR), md83 (KISH AIR). With the exception of the Tu's, the greatest noticable difference in seat/cabin comfort, (...

Upgrading current models has been done on almost every aircraft line currently in service. It's a, relatively, cheap way of increasing the customer base without starting from scratch. You also get shorter lead times before entering into service, so your customer won't wait too long, (and change his ...

What I'd like to see answered is why Boeing wants to experiment with a new lighter mandrel during the production proces of a 'revolutionalory new plane' in the first plance, when the 'more conventional method' of production they have now returned to has not even proven itself in operation nor is ce...

>>The R&D for the A350 has not "already been done" - it was started but not completed when Airbus decided to do something different (we'll have to wait see what this is). I believe that it was the A350 (redesign #4) that was to use new wings, engines, skin, new nose, etc., but work on ...

>>Again, how does one develop a "787 Killer" with existing technology?<< I have no idea....I just said they'd try. The 787 is the top of the tech heap at the moment...I'm sure it'll be bested some time in the future. While they're working on it, (and fixing whatever's wrong with the 380 pr...

Airbus isn't going anywhere. It wasn't very long ago that the same pundits who are writing obituaries for Airbus, were pounding nails in the coffin of Boeing.

The R&D has already been done on the 350...besides, since they're already conceding the #1 position to the 787, they're going to have to settle for #2, for now, and they know it. All they have to do is take some of the upgrades from the 350, (engines, skin), bolt it onto the 330, and they'll be ...

When last I was there, (which was 3 years ago), it didn't look so much like upgrades as destruction. That place is a mess....worst major airport, that I've been to. A close #2 is Heathrow.
