Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Not really. Typically not dedicated fleet is allocated 2 years in advance - so as an educated guess there would be a decision for 2026/27 max. As approx 3/year are already planned for Swiss and Austrian shall become replacement for it's own six A321, if staying with Airbus. So around 5-7 deliveries...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Thanks for reminding me that I should not make the mistake of booking my flights with Brussels Airlines if there is an alternative on the route. Unreliable service providers are just not my thing - however justified pilots' demands might or might not be. As a customer, I pay for service. I agree wi...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Pilot strike at SN confirmed (hln) from 23 to 27 march Do we know how significant the impact of the strike on SN's operations will be? I know someone who's planning on traveling during the strike period... We regularly travel to our Spanish holiday home. This easter we booked 6 return tickets (pare...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
It's thus a problem of priorities, and Wi-Fi is clearly not a priority for SN Thanks for the info... Now we have the proof that SN is not considered an equal partner of the LH group as SR and AU... SN is clearly the low cost airline... but with almost the same fares as the other airlines... Even on...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
As explained wifi equipment is expensive and fuel-consuming, if there would be a possible profit the likes of Ryanair an easyJet would have installed it many years ago. Suffices to have a look at hotels: years ago wifi was a costly extra only available at top brands and today the smallest hostel is...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
I read on luchtvaartnieuws: Lufthansa, Swiss and Austrian to get wifi on board on short haul flights. Why don't they add SN to this list? It would indeed really be a shame that the Brussels Airlines' aircraft wouldn't be included. Very soon, wifi on board will be considered as a minimal standard se...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
But they also said that the MAXs would not be for Lufthansa, Swiss and City. Thus, they might go to Brussels Airlines, Austrian Airlines and Eurowings (and maybe ITA...). Given the past and current safety issues of the MAX, I'm not sure I would like these planes going to SN... :? And it won't be th...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Why has OO-SBA been deployed on short routes till now (CDG, LHR, MUC, FRA,..., mostly routes less than 1 hour..; except BCN)? Is this for crew familiarisation? As the engines on the 320neo are more economic than those on the 320ceo, I would have expected to see the neo on longer routes of 2 hours an...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
It was an industry event in the Skyhall with many external stakeholders. You can read about it here: https://www.brusselsairlines.com/be/en/flying-with-us/social-responsibility/respectful-flying Thanks for the link... But normally we get very detailed info directly from members of this group... May...

Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2023
The war between Gaza and Israel is bringing a lot of "anomalies" in Belgian skies. Today, 7 October, the two Brussels Airlines flights to Tel Aviv were cancelled. The Ryanair flight from Charleroi to Tel Aviv did take off but returned to base after flying over Germany. More cancellations ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
OO-SNO has been retrofited with the Geven seat as well, and indeed the USB ports are not installed yet, this is why I didn't mention it. You mean: USB ports installed on 1 aircraft, but not yet activated. Still a long way to go for WiFi on board ... No USB, no WiFi !! In the 21st century! Hard to b...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Do we have more info on the NEO's, f.e. the delivery date of the first one @ BRU? Will this one have the new cabin that LH is going to install in older A32O's, as announced today? Will this one have WIFI on board? In these days, it's becoming hard to accept to fly in an aircraft without any WIFI......

The green dots make it so ugly :| Please SN, stop this obsession with 'special' liveries are work on your brand consistency. And erm, apart from some avgeeks, who will spot the difference? I can't see any problem with their "brand consistency" here. The green and the red simply don't matc...

Re: Diversions from around the globe (medical, technical, ...) 2023
Due to strong winds at FNC, TB1911 (BRU-FNC), B737-MAX8 OO-TMB on May 8th, 2023, seems to have diverted first to PXO, and later to LPA (source FR24). Today, FR24 didn't record any movement of the plane. Is it still at LPA? What about the passengers that were supposed to fly to FNC, and those who we...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
No, I mean the type of aircraft to be delivered... They should seriously consider the A220 as a replacement of the older A319. Very comfortable aircraft to fly, very low noise inside and wide seats (2-3 seating is nice when you're flying as a couple). Very powerful at take-off... And fleet commonal...

Embraer and LOT Polish Airlines have signed a contract to renew and expand the Pool Programme to support LOT’s fleet of E-Jets. In the new agreement, LOT will also add seven E-Jets to the original contract, with the Pool now covering a total of 44 aircraft and over 300 components. and Lot is close ...
