Re: WestJet makes first scheduled transatlantic flight
Next (May 2016) such transatlantic service with (non-757) ETOPS-narrowbodies will be WestJet (again), this (third) time from St. John’s YYT to London LGW, with 737

Air Dolomiti E190 I-ADJN: 1920-2010 LH8FR/4UX MUC-BRU-MUC Return of an old tradition: there was a time when Air Dolomiti was carrying out many LH flights between Brussels and its Munich base. I once had a nice flight with them on that route. I saw that also this summer Air Dolomiti’s E19x’s will op...

Re: Brussels Airlines too noisy at Stockholm Bromma Airport
BTW, Swiss (also LH-Group owned) is replacing its Avros with Bombardier CS jets (also 2+3 seats, plus short runway & steep descent capable). For them, the challenging LCY airport will be their first CS destination. So maybe an idea for SN with Bromma, Florence, etc.

Re: Lufthansa Cityline LH 2284 Munich to Brussels - Embraer 195
By the way about MUC's Terminal-2: also the ‘beach chairs’ made available at its Visitors Terrace indicate that T2 is a joint-venture; there are both blue ones with MUC’s M-logo and yellow ones with the LH-logo. Re: Lufthansa Cityline LH 2284 Munich to Brussels - Embraer 195
Some extra info on MUC's T2:
T2 being the LH-group/Star-dedicated terminal (construction even co-financed by LH), the coffee and newspapers are probably (co)offered by LH
Boarding LH Regional and Air Dolomiti by bus: this will change when T2's satellite will open (soon).

Re: WestJet makes first scheduled transatlantic flight
And now Canadian WestJet flies its transatlantic B737-700s also from Halifax (in Nova Scotia) to Glasglow (in ‘original’ Scotland).
Two of its 737s even bear ‘tartan’ tails:

Just imagine that things like this would be in the checked luggage, stored in the cargo hold.

Again another one for this growing list of (5?) transatlantic airline services with non-757 ETOPS-narrowbodies: Dublin-Halifax by Europe Airpost B737-700 as posted already earlier by André on Luchtzak: https://www.aviation24.be/airlines_press_release_articles/europe-airpost-launches-flights-dublin-h...

Flaps a potential Achilles’ heel ?
Question from a non-pilot-dummy to the pilots out there on Luchtzak: Are the tracks/racks of the flaps a plane’s potential Achilles’ heel? During final approach the flaps are fully extended to maintain sufficient lift at low speed (and altitude). Then they are fully exposed to those strong airflow p...

Aviation and the Ebola epidemic in West-Africa
Some months ago, I read a Brussels Airlines quote about the ebola safety measures taken for its flights attendants (instructions on putting on gloves and a mask when approaching a potentially ill passenger). I wonder, given that ebola is transmitted via contact with infected body fluids (including s...

Dear Pilots among you, Recently, I watched PilotsEyeTV's DVD about LH's chief pilot flying the A380: http://pilotseye.tv/route/a380-san-francisco-the-final-flights-of-jr-juergen-raps/ On his retirement party, he was praised by other pilots for his aviation skills - for which "performing a Belgi...

First commercial flight of OO-JDL would be on 20 DEC 2013 it seems (and that's my birthday...). Yes, indeed, to Cancun (see above post with timetable). Think of a birthday present? Well, I just mused over AirTrainer's earlier post (25 SEP). If there's no special (eg SN-747-style; on which I was too...

By the way (re: Finnair A340 to BRU), on days when this would be with their OH-LQD, then this would offer some nice "Marimekko" spotting moments in Steenokkerzeel !
