Re: Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX crashes between Addis Ababa and Nairobi - Impact on Boeing 737 MAX

Well .. Aren't they working on a fix since some months now ? So 3 months to go ... However the solution concept hopefully meets the approval of EASA and FAA before getting developped ?

Re: Lufthansa in 2019

It seems to be a major setback for the A339 this order... And a big win for the B789 instead ! Maybe I was not entirely expecting this :-)

Re: Lufthansa in 2019

Indeed however the business model (of sn vs ew) is not the same (that was my point) and it's recognised as such.

Re: Lufthansa in 2019

Everybody knows that SN is now a part of Eurowings Group and not LH group. Sn part of EW ? There is a major difference between the two, SN is a hub airline and (to my knowledge) EW is not. EW business model is that of any LCC, as such designed to operate O/D flights. Whenever a hub function is requ...

Re: Lufthansa is trying to sue passengers for skiplagging

An exemple ? In a restaurant you pay let's say 25 euro for a lunch dish at a given restaurant or you pay 20 euro for the same lunch dish at the same restaurant + dinner dish in another restaurant distant from the original one both meals included. The same day. Important to mention, you pay days in a...

Re: Lufthansa is trying to sue passengers for skiplagging

'If I buy a ticket, I agree with their general terms and conditions and I compromise to pay a FARE for the use of their TICKET. This includes one, several or more segments to a destination.'(quote from AlexC) Provided it's legal, that's the whole point of this discussion. Two judges from 2 diffrenet...

Re: Airbus A380 news

Just back from DXB, this lineup of whale jets on the apron is really an impressive sight that will remain a vibrant memory for a long time. I'm happy I could live this adventute throughout, as an aviation enthusiast I can only feel disappointed from this expected but still painful outcome. Of course...

Re: Lufthansa is trying to sue passengers for skiplagging

The real shame is that skiplagging cant be used for round trip. A no show on one flight shouldnt cancel the return flight. If its paid its paid. If you decide to do one leg on a donkey's back its your choice. :o  It's a real shame indeed. The airline should be sued for doing that, not the ...

Re: Lufthansa Is Trying To Sue Passengers For Skiplagging

If it's legal, there is obviously less point for airlines to offer discounted rates to tag-ons pax since p2p pax can enter that scheme also with a slight twist. In fact it's more than a "slight twist" since the luggage in the hold will be forwarded to the end destination as the ticket requests. So ...

Re: Lufthansa Is Trying To Sue Passengers For Skiplagging

It's common parctice I believe (otherwise what is skiplagging about ?). But is skiplagging legal, that's the question. If it's legal, there is obviously less point for airlines to offer discounted rates to tag-ons pax since p2p pax can enter that scheme also with a slight twist. The German judge imp...

Lufthansa is trying to sue passengers for skiplagging

Now this retains my attention ... On one hand, a Spanish court recently ruled that Iberia passengers could not be punished for skiplagging. On the other hand, the Berlin-Mitte court just pronounced a more ambiguous sentence .. giving LH sufficient grounds it seems to appeal the decision. My view is ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Thank you André .. sorry for the link problem, just found out about it now.
Spohr repeats what is unfortunately already known. Each airline of the group must finance its equipment separately. No policy, no investment for sn except the routine thing.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

Flying more passengers than ever, most of the staff and crew working their butt off. Restructuring, cutting costs, race to the bottom, etc.. hardly any profit. And now a nice negative article by the big boss. This must be very frustrating for staff and crew. Lufthansa's image is damaged. At SN, in ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

With smaller planes getting longer and longer ranges, the HUB strategy will no longer be the main business model, but direct flights from point to point, will. Not sure. While I expect some more "stand-alone" routes to emerge (the A321LR might contribute to that), I also think the present day hubs ...
