Re: Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX crashes between Addis Ababa and Nairobi

Arriving back at BRU last Friday I saw the big Ethiopian Airlines waiting for its next trip. And I was thinking " that is an airline I still have to take "

Re: Which future fighter jet for Belgian Defence?

time to make our own fighter, just as Sweden.
Sweden counts just a bit less inhabitants than Belgium, but succeeds to build its own fighter and to sell it abroad.

I join you with the idea to meet the current king. I would like to ask him what went through his mind when he crashed his Robin ( at that time he was still crown prince )

Re: Alitalia near bankruptcy. Can it be saved?

Meanwhile, Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr sees a need for “significant” restructuring at Alitalia before his airline can make a deal to buy the carrier. It is 25 years ago that my father made a similar analysis after a roller coaster ride with that airline. Restructuring meant in his words " shut...

We saw similar very low flying C-130 during combined Belgian-US forces Oesling manoeuvres around Veurne in 1988.

Re: Ryanair cancels 40-50 flights a day from mid-September to end-October 2017

People tend to forget. Remember the public outrage and everybody boycotting Renault after they closed their plant in Vilvoorde? I have said in the past that I would not fly Ryanair again for business purposes after 1 major hick up. I have used them just once for a private flight afterwards. Never a...

Re: Turboprop for long distance airliners

I do not think that development will go back to piston engines for long distance aircraft. Not even the diesel engines. Neither do I think that traditional turbo props will be used. Despite the use of tp in the A400. But it is possible that the open rotor engine or propfan will be further develloped...

Re: Ryanair cancels 40-50 flights a day from mid-September to end-October 2017

People tend to forget. Remember the public outrage and everybody boycotting Renault after they closed their plant in Vilvoorde? I don't forget. I had a Renault and it needed to be replaced. I used the quotations from Renault every 5 years to buy a new Citroën. ( which also closed in the past a fact...

Which program does this airline use to organise the employee's hours?
Or has this also been subcontracted to India because of cost savings?

Re: Ryanair in 2017

Ryanair insists it also caters to business people. Not sure many will continue with Ryanair under such conditions... This is exactly the reason why several companies in Belgium forbid their staff to fly Ryanair ( and also some other LCC ) + that any hick up to show up at work after a holiday becaus...

worst:
food poisoning with Alitalia.

Best?
I share the 747 upper deck experience with an AF flight between BKK and SGN , including cigar :)

And I do agree with the BMI panini as a nice surprise on such short flights.

sorry to be so simple: mash & bangers with BA. Yummy.

He stole the watch of the first stewardess, look at both pictures.
The other stewardess could get of the plane still owning her watch.

I wouldn't want his airplane as well: no Wifi and no cell phone reception; even his fixed phone isn't working looking at his face " Hello? Hello ?"

Hello every one, after being inactive on the forum for quite some time, I blink my eyes about... Alitalia. I am pretty sure that years ago I was a strong fan to close down that "company" as soon as possible. Just to read now that it is still acting as an embarrasment for the aviation world...

Re: The "Heavyweight" of Luftwaffe

No, larger quantities would not have changed the outcome of the war because of the simple fact that Germany had not enough fuel. Interesting is how the Luftwaffe changed the use of their heavy airplanes during the war. They had greater succes with the guided bombs than with their terror carpet bombi...

Re: The Soviet giant

Not at all. The Soviet airforce doctrine was mainly to support the land forces. The objectives of the Soviet air force was based on experiences during the Spanish Civil War and the invasion of Poland. Superiority in the air and ground support were their main tasks, because a future war would probabl...
