The big trip

Well it's that time of year once again, yep Christmas and New Year's The world is in pretty tough shape economically and the prospects for 2009 don't look too bright, The U.S. will have a new President and thankfully a whole new outlook on things after eight years of Bush. There will be many failure...

Re: Boeing 787 Delayed An Additional 6 Months.

As bad as the news appears to be on the surface, it may be a blessing in disguise for a lot of players in this waiting game. Boeing knows there are many airlines in trouble, the delay will give them some breathing room in the form of an unofficial deferral of orders without losing delivery slots or ...

Re: Here we go again - Boeing - Airbus - USAF tanker

The fact that Jon brought this to light in his article is not really relevant, it's the fact that Airbus published it. The publication of alleged "Boeing Proprietary" information in an Airbus document could affect Northrop Grumman's attempt to rebid - with Airbus parent EADS as a partner -...

Re: Qantas / BA merger in the works ??????

Oops didn't see that one down there!

As for Iberia, you're right that one has been bandied about for ages, however this round might be the icing on the cake, I'd look for some kind of agreement before the end of the year!

Qantas / BA merger in the works ??????

This would make sense in today's market conditions:

BA is also reported to be in talks with Iberia regarding a possible merger as well.

Re: Will the 787 fly?

I was just wondering where all these facts are coming from, according to certification tests conducted by Boeing, the 787 was subjected to 150% of the maximum pressure it would ever encounter, and passed with no leaks. Does anyone have facts to support these claims, or are they just speculation and ...

Re: twin engine Grunman Goose down in British Columbia - 7 dead

We should fix the title, it's a Grumman Goose not a Grunman. The Accident occurred during marginal VFR conditions and in the area concerned there was Marine fog present. I fly in B.C. a lot and weather conditions during winter months change extremely rapidly, the pilots for Pacific Coastal also fly ...

Re: Airbus to suspend production of A400M

Well for this once I'm supporting Bits44. Can we please respect words for what they mean? To suspend = to suspend (Nl. "opschorten") To stop = to stop (Nl. "beëindigen, stopzetten") His message and his sources were clear enough, for those willing to read. No need to compare to o...
