When you come in fast and you flare, the aircraft initially enters a climb while its airspeed drops dramatically (engines are on idle). Seeing the speed nearing the stall speed and the height increasing, the pilot will need to apply a bit of power and maintain the nose-up in order to land Just gues...

Bru.AIr management might sometimes show very weak moments but I am pretty sure they are doing something about it. Alot of selections took place the last months and some candidates are still in the process. Many fresh first officers will get a 50 days lasting training course starting from 30th July....

Many of you may thing why does it work for Ryanair, very simple since they only fly to secondary airports they have no jetways, rarely need pushback and they always deboard and board via 2 stairways on to the aircraft, not having a seatticket has also an influence because people rush to have a good...

Every employee has a certain amount of courses to follow each year.Human factors, Jar-ops , sim checks , first aid , etc,... each with a minimum pas rate of 75%. Which is not easy to do. in an article that appeared in Trends today, they mention that Macquarie would like to attract more low-cost companies to BRU and that a long haul connection with Asia is on top of their wish list.

Hopefully these plans will turn out into commercial success for BRU.
To be continued.

EasyJet plans major hub on the EU mainland

EasyJet plans to open a major hub at EURO Airport (Basle - Freiburg - Muhlhouse). It will be the first EasyJet hub on the EU mainland. This is expected to be bad news for Swiss which is already facing financial problems. No information on the fleet size or type though.

In any case, the aircraft concerned was one of the first of its type to enter service. And as with all first aircraft that have entered service, there have been mishaps. Was this accident caused by a glitch in the system or was it poor pilot knowledge of the A320 systems and controls ? I really don'...

Knight255: It does not overrule your inputs. It prevents you from doing things that are unsafe. And believe me, you won't come anywhere near these limits in normal day to day operations. Modern figher planes like the F-16 have fly by wire. I don't hear any Viper driver complain... :? And yes, I love...

People shouldn't fear go-arounds. It is a perfectly normal and safe maneuver.

Those weren't Extra's but Pitts Special biplanes:

Pitts S-2B OO-PVI
Pitts S-2B N141JH

All the best to both pilots in recovering from the ordeal. Hope to see them again soon. The aerobatic community in Belgium will not be the same without them.
