Are there any known instances of people surviving this sort of trip. Between the cold and the lack of Oxygen at 10,000m, I'm assuming not. Maybe it's time to be more assertive with this kind of incident and instead of expressions of sympathy, airline management should be letting it be known that any...

There are strong rumours that Aer Lingus will base a further aircraft in Cork next summer allowing them to add three or four new routes. Since they fly Poznan-Dublin and their Cork-Warsaw route is regarded as a great success you could consider directly petitioning them with the results of your surve...

isnt it strange that the frequency is higher in eindhoven than in charleroi ? I wonder how long before Eindhoven is a base. It has 8 routes now, which is more than Cork (which admittedly was only made a base to screw up EasjJet) and is fractionally less than Bremen (9 routes) and Stockholm (11 rout...

I can't help but think this is a short-sighted move by Aer Lingus. I know people who have chosen to fly with them in recent months to avoid the hassle (never mind the cost) of Ryanair's baggage charge. I also wonder how it will affect code share arrangements with BA and KLM. As an exiled Irishman, I...

Ryanair used to do this (may still do, it's been a while since I flew with them). The bags, assuming they hadn't been used, could be used to contain photographic film. So, holiday makers were able to put their snaps in for processing at the end of the flight. Whether that's worthwhile with so many p...

I'd prefer to see tax on the fuel and have all the silly departure taxes dropped. I'd imagine that countries like Ireland, Malta or Cyprus who are more dependent on air traffic than most might have a problem with this proposal. Also, this could have a negative environmental impact if airlines decide...

CX, just be careful being accused of off topic! :insult:  The Skytrax thing just showed another reason why Aer Lingus doesn't fit any more. I don't see it as a case of not fitting. As has been pointed out, there is little difference between the service provided by Aer Lingus and that provided ...

I don't think it's just a question of fit. There are considerable overheads in being a member of an alliance. Realistically, an airline needs to ask itself whether the extra revenue can justify the expenditure. This is especially true for smaller alliance members who are really only used as feeders ...

I suspect what happened is that the collapse of Air Wales (and Ryanair's spat with Cardiff Airport) presented them with an immediate opportunity to take over their profitable routes from Cardiff. This had to be done before anyone else got in on them. They probably reasoned that Liege was higher risk...
