Thanks for that sn26567 - glad you had a good trip on Turkish. As for Economy capetown, my brother flew DXB - IST (he had a wedding there) - AMS on Turkish during the summer and he said that they were the WORST airline he had ever flown on. And trust me, he has flown on some utterly crap airlines in...

Yes we are entering an economic slow down but that slow down shouldn't be as severe as in the past as though so I agree with smokejumper on this one. The US is still the most powerful economy but the impact of a downturn should be lessened globally thanks to the increased economic power of Russia, C...

The A330 doesn't make money? Compensation sales? yes, a few are. What about all the others. provide the evidence 'cos I haven;t seen any. Good to see all the Boeing cheerleaders on the defensive though. I maintain we should change the title of the thread by adding the word 'shite' to the end of it.

Unfortunately there is more chance of the A380 being used as AF1 than we Europeans have of electing a President for the EU. It is simply that the US is democratic and Europe is bureaucratic. S :-) Good stuff. Next time we rig an election over here we'll give you a shout on when we need to know how ...

Unless you live in London or live somewhere that has no shops whatsoever just don't transit at Heathrow unless it is soo much cheaper than any other option. And I mean any. I would transit through Baghdad before there! Let's look at the place is a little detail shall we: Terminal 1 - Check in over c...

Strange given they deferrred delivery of their first batch of A380's. Also strange - did they not say they were not looking at 4 engined planes any more? Even more strange, given the 'green' BS they spun with the 787 that they would go for a 748 or 380 at all now. Methinks they have been usurped by ...

Heathrow is busy and bustly and needs improving yes but my experience is that its still pretty efficient. Sorry...can't go along with that one. If you are lucky, then it can appear to be just an old series of buildings with stairs everywhere and broken moving walk ways and escalators. In which case...

Cost? Timeframes? New design available? Trying to look like they welcome global competition? Still not much chance it would happen in reality though.....

As for the Asian thing? I would say India and China.

Precisely. It's not his lack of knowledge - its his lack of objectivity. And the fact he has been paid by one of 'em makes it even worse.

"The only issues are around development and manufacture"? That is quality. Aye, the plane performs like a dream but we aren't getting more from it and build quality is shitty. We fully expect great performance from the aircraft as long as bits don;t start falling of it due to the fact we u...

Eventually publications will start to ignor ethe prattlings of this utter buffoon. Is this not the guy that was quoted in an 'impartial report' only for it later to be uncovered that the report was paid for by Boeing? Sure I read that somewhere....still as long as some people take his word as some s...

They would be better getting shot of the old B737's that I saw at LIS last week and replace them with something a bit newer for a start. Get some A320 series and get rid of the older planes. I like Avros but they aren't the most efficient either....I like the E90's at AF Regional but have no idea ho...

Yep - there used to be FlyBE (in the days it was called British European) service from ABZ to LCY and it was great. So much less hassle. But two problems....you can't connect very well beyond London from there and the flight didn;t last very long! BA and BMI have London so stitched up that even Easy...

ABZ - LGW - LIS - LHR - ABZ on BA and TAP

SO its Sunday 7th and time for my second trip to Lisbon in 3 weeks. The first trip I took the AF E90 from ABZ and connected to a standard Airbus 320, with the return on the A321 and E90 again. All these flights were fine, except that the snadwich they give you on the LIS leg is kinda pointless.....o...

Being under investigation does not mean you are guilty. Though what Hogan was guilty of however was driving Gulf Air in to the ground with some bonkers decisions. He has more money to mess around with at Etihad though so routes like Dublin have more time to develop than with GF....or more time to fa...

Lot's of whooping and chearing by the Boeing cheerleaders if they sell either the 748 or the 787 and comments along the lines of 'no brainer' 'airbus are in deep trouble now' etc etc blah blah . If they go 380 or 350 lots of comments as to how the UK government interf...

Do a search for Chewin the Fat and there may be another airline related clip that is very funny. I ain't posting it though....may be too rude for some!
