Re: Thomas Cook ceases trading; UK CAA launches giant programme to fly its customers home

I remember how certain people were repeating how profitable those new leisure routes for SN were. And this without any knowledge and background We can see now how it will bring SN further into deep troubles. They can modify already their reboot plan Who could have predicted 2 years ago that TC woul...

Re: Thomas Cook on the verge of bankruptcy?

It seems like TC Balearics is continuing to fly as well (for Condor).

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

If TCB stops operations, all those small holiday destinations like Menorca, Tivat, Burgas, Varna,... will be closed. And the frequencies to bigger one will be significantly reduced. They only work because TCB offers packages (Flight + Bus transfer + Hotel). How many passengers on those flights booke...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

Regarding leisure flights, as far as I remember they have an agreement with Thomas Cook as SN is not selling leisure flights on their own. So SN is receiving a fixed price. Correct me in this if I'm wrong But, Leisure flights should be the minor part, even not 50%. Business is the main purpose. Eve...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

During the presentation a few months back, didn't TD or CS say that to cut cost, you'll never see an Eurowings aircraft based outside three or four hubs in Germany? So I don't think we'll see an Eurowings aircraft based in Brussels.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Hi everyone! In l'Echo this morning (don't think it's available in De Tijd for our Dutch speaking members) : Only one seat per flight is profitable at Brussels Airlines - Brussels Airlines will have to reduce its costs by 8% to 12% to be able to gain enough rentability to pay for their projects. - T...

Re: Trivia 2019 (miscellaneous news)

I'm not into bashing people that try something, but minister De Rugy looks like he doesn't know anything (not saying I'm an expert, but a bit commonsense and research) about aviation, and ecology neither... He says "airlines will have to invest in newer aircrafts that consume less kerosene", thank y...

Re: European 'environment tax' on aviation?

I’m not against a tax on kerosene, but the whole aviation industry has been build on that exemption. It would be very hard to for the airlines to add that to their costs. And I wasn’t playing the victim, just saying that the impact of the aviation on the environnement is relatively small compared to...

Re: European 'environment tax' on aviation?

Introducing a tax on kerosene would just kill the few small airlines that are still flying, and really damage the others, just like when the price of the barrel increases! People think that airlines make hundreds thousands of profit on every single flight, but it's mostly a few thousands euros (if n...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Brussels Airlines introduced their new cabin with a touch of "Art Nouveau". This includes new seats for all classes, an overall new style of the cabin and a bar in the galley for the business class passengers. https://www.brusselsairlines.com/en-be/practical-information/travel-info/on-board/travel-c...
