Re: Social actions at air navigation service provider skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

For the rest of the discussion (the way management is counting the nights, the violations of the laws (I don't fully agree with you) and so on) this is exactly the point where (most of) the Atcos are wrong, according to many of us (on this forum and in the public in general). Forgive me for being a...

Re: Social actions at air navigation service provider skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

Yes I have seen the rosters: no one has 15 shifts of work over a period of 16 days, as stated in the newspaper’s article. There is a mix between the words « shifts » and « days ». As discussed before, working two nights (TWO shifts) counts for FOUR days. An Atco cannot pretend that he/she works FOU...

Re: Social actions at air navigation service provider skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

Reading the article on HLN, if we can trust what the journalist wrote, Mr Callaerts said that some ATCOs are still rostered with 15 shifts over 16 days... That isn’t true... It’s a total mess over there: I recently saw an Atco yelling at his manager because of a procedure and one hour later the sam...

Re: Social actions at air navigation service provider skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

I had a feeling I would be responding here again today after a silent summer. The agreement might be crucial for our CEO to have more (full) control over the rostering and planning of staff but it solves none of the issues the company is faced with. Once again, it is displayed how good this manageme...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

In the meantime at one of your most precious customers. You could assume that the millions of EU261 costs generated by these work stoppages/industrial actions/staff shortages have nothing to do with the games being played at your kindergarten company (on both sides unions and management). In realit...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

You're talking about "strike". But when I read the message from the Eurocontrol Network Manager, I read "staff shortage" Do you have any extra information allowing you to confirm this is a strike ? If you do thank you for sharing because as far as I know, there is no more valid ...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

Source is muac facebook (union atcos Maastricht) but still an interesting picture of how Belgium screams fire and murder at the problem, but doesn't exactly contribute to the solution. This is about Eurocontrol, not Skeyes. Affecting Belgian airspace nontheless and a good example of Belgian policies...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

No, because EVERY company sets the rules and employees are expected to follow them or leave. PLEASE finally open your eyes and stop campaigning and complaining to make you even more impossible and ridiculous. Now just go back to work. The airport and millions of people would be very grateful to you...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

That's wrong if the 'drop' itself wasn't a valid reason to strike. Striking as atco because you can't all be informed of something in one meeting isn't a valid reason. It's behavior of spoiled and entitled employees you won't see anywhere else. I refer to my earlier post The fine line you're talkin...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

Don't distort the facts! The latest strike was because all staff wanted a meeting with managment at the same time, a completely unreasonable request which shows the mentality of Skeyes staff. If it's such a horrible employer, why don't find another job? Money is good and stiking whenever it suits w...

machteloos hey tiny man. When are you going to grow half a pair and start talking with one of the people involved instead of just spamming fake news like a Russian troll while ignoring everything else? The 'benefit' we're looking to obtain is respect for our rights and rules. We are not looking for...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

I'm afraid you won't get any answer. The answer is nowhere to be found in the media, I think ;) I know. His silence says more than his words could though. On that note: For the next 10 days management is still doing their visite of the units to clarify the agreement and their intentions and to answ...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

What your Solidair - the magazine from the Belgian communist party PTB/PVDA - of course forgets to mention, is that Belgocontrol/skeyes implements maximal recrutement, as agreed in 2016. From the skeyes press desk: Het akkoord van april 2016 voorzag in de maximale aanwerving van luchtverkeersleider...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

I was only replying to SR20’s post. Reality is not like in the tweet, neither like in his post. We are not forgetting that the management is doing a very poor job and that being an Atco means having responsibilities. Last but not least, yes you have 10 millions of angry Belgians against you, yes yo...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

Hi SR20, Although i don’t agree with the tone of the tweet, I can’t agree with your statement. - 8000€ netto is indeed incorrect, it is more around 6500€ for a radar controller (as discussed many times before) - 35 hours per week is what is supposed to be worked on paper. Before being short of staf...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

There have been rumors that ATCOs and unions asked additional fees. Amounts from 40,000 to 60,000 euros extra are mentioned. Is that correct, Phoenixx? I laughed a bit. We have been refusing any and all financial benefits because that has always where we lost all sympathy and honestly money can not...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

OK if you want to call "a minimum service" handling only traffic in emergency if there is a strike. We can play on the words. Yesterday was not a wild strike because there was a "stakingsaanzegging/préavis de grève" for months? So that means that all airlines should have known a...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

Public opinion doesn't care. Just saying. And public opinion might become valuable when atco's try to get another job afterwards... The fine line was that, LIKE IN EVERY BIG COMPANY BTW , the managment wanted to communicate in smaller groups. Guess atco's have no feeling whatsoever with a real work...
