Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

No matter who would get them, that brand has the chance of getting 40 brand new aircraft over 5 years. Additional upscaling of the order not considered. Likely a decison would be taken in May 2025 just before the Annual General Meeting. In other words: we will have to keep looking into the crystal ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Not really. Typically not dedicated fleet is allocated 2 years in advance - so as an educated guess there would be a decision for 2026/27 max. As approx 3/year are already planned for Swiss and Austrian shall become replacement for it's own six A321, if staying with Airbus. So around 5-7 deliveries...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

And it seems that the dumping of the Dash-8 "paid off" so much that OS is wetleasing two ATR72 from Braathens for the season... ;) Which means nothing. SN using the CRJ from a wet-lease airline this summer doesn't mean they regret their small(er) jumbolino's... Maybe not and they are in t...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

And the last tutboprops of OS were exchanged with 6 A320. For them it seems to pay off. Sorry to correct a factual error: the 6 A320 were not meant as a replacement for the Dash-8, but for the phasing out of the A319 sub-fleet. The Dash-8 routes are mainly flown by the E195 - which is also much bet...

Re: Austrian Airlines in 2024

As Aviation24 reported yesterday , one of Austrian Airlines' A320neo aircraft sustained severe damage in a ground incident. The aircraft OE-LZQ (MSN 11467) returned from a flight to LHR as OS456 on the evening of 6 April 2024 and was subsequently towed to a remote parking position. According to newe...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024

Like Lux_avi rightly pointed it out : how sure can you be that workers from ground staff to pilots at other airlines will not go on strike (even at Ryanair) ? Without even mentioning ATC (and not in Belgium only). Perhaps the best option is to go on holidays somewhere reachable by car ? Workers in ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024

.... and as expected the strike will go ahead. I think I'll book my summer trip to Spain with Iberia or Vueling. I want peace of mind without the constant threat of strikes with SN. (it's really disastrous for their image but they don't seem to care, so be it) Exactly. Now now it goes about details...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Any news on OO-SBC? I'm under the impression deliveries at SN seem to take longer than other airlines, but for sure I'm not an expert and probably wrong. It was spotted end of January at TLS, already painted in the new "measles" livery of SN, however still wearing the test registration F-...

Re: Airline bankruptcies, ceased operations, restructurations

A journalist from Brazzanews reports that "a source" told him that ECair's HB-JJE (Privatair 757-200) will soon take the sky: https://twitter.com/brazzanews/status/1758876049813667986 I call that rumor "BS": the aircraft mentioned is certainly NOT the HB-JJE, as they would need ...

Indeed, the aircraft will be painted at a point later this year at BTS.

Re: Strikes affecting Belgian airports in 2023

Self-declared "civil disobedience movement" Code Rouge is planning disruptions at airports in Belgium between 15-17 December 2023, probably peaking on 17 December. It's one of the groups showing little respect to laws, regulations, foreign property or aviation safety, recklessly pushing th...

Aviation24.be will be on-site to cover the event. Will Aviation24.be also provide information about the timing so that others will get the chance of catching the new plane as well? Flightradar24 will do, no worry LOL. It's just that FR24 and Brussels Airport's Instagram quite contradict each other:...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

LH has a strong presence in India. They want us to fly to FRA/MUC and connect there on an LH flight (and vv). No competition allowed from SN. My two cents... Air India is also operating to VIE, so transiting through there would also be a possibility (surely easier and faster than through nightmaris...

As of 06.06. around 10, rwy 07R/25L was not anymore active (despite northeasterly winds which would make 01 the primary rwy for landings and 07R the primary rwy for takeoffs) due to maintenance. Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

From day 1 LH has treated SN like an unwanted child. And while it's true they have helped them to stay afloat, it is only this bare minimum they have done for SN. Nothing more. While LX and OS are getting 787's or A350's, SN gets old second hand A330's to replace even older A330's. (and almost week...
