Re: easyJet in 2020

The sale/leaseback of 10 A319s in the quarter generated $148.1 million in cash. I am always wary of such deals, bringing a short-term profit for a long-term loss. See the Finance Tower of Brussels! They are getting rid of their A319 fleet, that's it. I don't see any short term profit for a long ter...

Air Canada
Montreal – Brussels 28MAR20 – 30APR20 A330-300 replaces 787-8
Which means a capacity increase by +-30 seats on average, very nice!
But less than the 789 which was also regulary scheduled on the route, and definitely a decrease in quality if you ask me :(

What do you mean about the 747-8*?

Re: Boeing 737 (MAX) news

But I have some professional knowledge of the latter, and the first and major point that I heard again and again is "AVOID SINGLE PONTS OF FAILURE". A rule not observed in the current story, if I read you correctly. I'm sorry, but that plane comes with seats that should welcome pilots. Not push but...

Re: Boeing 737 (MAX) news

void it undermining the plane’s value. IMHO, a name change will not solve any image problem. People are not stupid and will know that a new name does not hide old problems. Ryanair already changed the name of the MAX 200 to 737-8 200, but only naive people will be abused by the name change. Get out...

Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2020

Early summer season for TUI? ES-SAO, SmartLynx Estonia A320 arrived at Brussels yesterday and got (already!) TUI stickers before flying to Charleroi (to be based there)... Pretty sure you are smart enough to realize that is due to the MAX grounding, right? What’s more questionable is why 5 737s of ...

While for a long time I preferred my traditional paper copy of a newspaper, I have also changed to a digital copy, which I read on my tablet. That would be in contradiction with the environnemental policy used so far by Sowaer and Walloon Region. One single departure route to minimize noise disturbances with soundproofing measures for local residents !
I don't think FedEx cares at all about this :(

I don't think the fact that thousands of people might be losing their job is worth the question.
Whether it's true or not, those who risk their job are not laughing at all. Those who laugh with this are selfish idiots.

Re: Looking back to 2019: one year of flights

I looked into the FR24 records and it was the fastest flight from MRS to CRL in the three previous months. FR pilots are asked to save fuel and it is certainly not by cruising close to the maximum speed that they can do so. But flying at the maximum speed to arrive no later than 3 hours after sched...

I heard FedEx asked for SID changes at LGG. The current SID's are (to say the least) completely inefficient, probably even more in the eyes of americans ;)
