Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2019

TUI Airlines Belgium to launch Casablanca-Barcelona service in mid Apr-2020. Far from bases! Huh? CMN has been a TUI BE base for years... :? "Has been" is exactly the word. Yes exactly. "Has been" a TUI base for 13 years. Jet4you started in 2006, since then nothing changed in the operations except ...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

YUL makes even more sense for SN than YYZ. The Québec province and Québec City attract a lot of belgian tourists, among which many French speaking for an obvious reason. Of course it would be better for SN if AC would discontinue its own flights to YUL and concentrate on YYZ, which is a better hub ...

Re: Cruise speed vs top of descent

I guess you're talking about the 737NG? Surprised to hear that an autopilot track selection does not exist on that plane, it's not as if the design predates GPS... I suppose the MAX - if we see it in the air again - has the feature as well? Any idea about other types? NG & MAX have the same autopil...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

If I’m not mistaken, SN was supposed to replace AC on the BRU-YUL route? As I understood, SN would be seasonal and additional to AC SN will fly seasonal 5 times a week to YUL. AC will fly from both cities to BRU Thanks for the info! So basically SN will put extra capacity in summer time to YUL and ...

Re: Cruise speed vs top of descent

It's strange that you say FL240 at the boundary is too low. Whenever possible, I use 'when ready descent...' and almost never I see an aircraft leveling of at FL240 to start the descent later. Coming from KOK yes, then quite often descent starts 10 nm or more past KOK... The problem with the track ...

BRU-YUL seem to be operated by SN *and* AC next summer?

BRU-YYZ by AC only (as announced before).

I can't see the article, what does she write?
Can't read it either, but Venyo is mentioned below the picture in the article.
So I guess it's about selling simulators, not directly training pilots.

But... for that, they'd need to have it certified first

It is strange that Het Laatste Nieuws talks about 350 passengers when the capacity of TUI's 787 is 300 passengers.
Nope, it's 305 -)

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

HV at BRU makes a lot of sense with Thomas Cook bankrupt and SN rebooting. HV already has many Belgian customers at EIN and already works with TUI which will probably grow without Thomas Cook. *competes* with TUI, you mean? :| No, I meant exactly what I wrote. Re: Trivia 2019 (miscellaneous news)

Looks like it, indeed! The A220 seems to be really good compared to the E2. Although one airline in Belgium thinks the E2 is a better product, but I fail to see why honestly... any specialist in the E2/A220 battle around here? :) Sorry lumumba, my question was more about performance, specifications...

I also think the company you referring to fly with Boeing's and Boeing is working closely with Embraer and it will be almost the same relation between Embraer and Boeing than Bombardier and Airbus in the future there is the explanation in my opinion. Re: Trivia 2019 (miscellaneous news)

Air Sénégal ordered 8 A220-300's during the Dubai 1ir Show. It seems that for so far, Airbus is the big winner of the DAS, with 120 A320NF for Air Arabia and 50 A350 for Emirates and some other smaller orders. Looks like it, indeed! The A220 seems to be really good compared to the E2. Although one ...

You have to force it in TUI booking system but indeed they head back to Miami from 4 April 2020, 2 times per week, on Tuesday and Saturday, until 24 October 2020. Strange that TUI flies to Miami only in Summer. Miami is rather a winter destination for Americans trying to escape the cold of the Nort...

Re: Trivia 2019 (miscellaneous news)

Mooohahaha! if that was the case, really, the messages can well remain in the "trivia" thread. And of course it is all too cheap too ridicule others' errors, still this poor amateur pilot has well learned the lesson to first "standby" the transponder, then set the new squawk, then "un-standby". But...
