Re: BRU infrastructure: future

I don’t think it was moving very fast, though I didn’t hang around the area to check. A friend at EY told me they had a 1.5 hour delay because of it. And I noticed a lot of pax running to get to their gate while I was in the B terminal.

Re: BRU infrastructure: future

I left on a trip Friday morning. There was an enormous queue of non eu passengers waiting for border control stretching the length of the connector. The electronic gates were operating and there was no queue there, so I quickly passed though there. I noticed that all 10 border control posts were sta...

Re: Incredibly low flying commercial jet 29/6

It was indeed the Belgian airforce A321, who apparently made a scenic flight over Belgium before heading to Ursel. It flew at the same low altitude over Leuven as well.

Re: BRU infrastructure: future

I think a part of the ongoing technical problems lies in the fact that I haven’t seen the system that they use in Brussels anywhere else. In all other airports with E-gates (at least those I’ve visited) you put your passport on the glass plate of the reader. At BRU however the passport gets pulled i...

Re: BRU infrastructure: future

There’s nothing much Brussels airport can do about the staffing problems at the police, but everytime I pass through connector to the border control I’m amazed at how badly the border control has been built. Inefficient signage and the whole queuing system is a big mess, way too small, with a wall i...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2017

SN will fly Erevan till 29 october 17. No flight during winter 17-18 and back end of march 18 ! But how can you create a market that way....it's not reliable !!! I mean this is a hub market not spot to spot....so you need time and flexibility to get passengers.....very strange to me how they do. I ...

Re: Ryanair cancels 40-50 flights a day from mid-September to end-October 2017

People tend to forget. Remember the public outrage and everybody boycotting Renault after they closed their plant in Vilvoorde? I think I remember their sales actually increased. The biggest mistake in dealing with this mess was not immediately communicating which flights were going to be cancelled....

Re: BRU infrastructure: future

This week I used the automatic e-readers twice, no queue at all! And working! Same here, used them Saturday 12/08 for my flight to IAD and no queue or anything. It's only a pity that those e-Gates don't accept the most used ID, the national identity card. A little effort, please! They did accept ID...

Re: BRU infrastructure: future

Hm, I passed through LHR last week, of the long row of automated border controls, only 5 or so were operational. There was not really a queue, but that was also due to the fact that there were a lot of manual border controls open. The automated border control at Brussels have had a long history of t...

It is funny how all the newspaper now go with the sensational headline "secret revealed!" It wasn't a secret to anybody even remotely following aviation in the Netherlands.

Re: Brussels Airport - terminal B observations

I feel the way the border control is setup in the connector is very weird. Why is there a wall in the middle of the queue for non-eu passengers? The whole queuing system looks so messy and amateuristic. Especially as it is brand new, I feel this is a bit of a missed opportunity. The new store is nic...
