Re: Lufthansa in 2019

AF/KL have also recently "restructured" their FFP, but it not as bad as M&M. Btw, when I go to the M&M web page, I have the feeling they mainly want you to spend your miles on everything except "bonus" tickets. And they want you to spend a huge number of miles for items/products which are not worth ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Cathay Belgium definitely has a point. However, I don't think AF/KL would be interested in setting up another hub at BRU. Perhaps KL if they really cannot grow anymore at AMS (perhaps !). If ever there is a Brexit, I'd rather see BA set up a (small) hub at BRU. As for the rest, reducing service is n...

Re: Lufthansa in 2019

And there are now cuts in premium economy and economy. https://onemileatatime.com/lufthansa-reducing-economy-meal-service/ At this point I am happy it chose IB for my trip to MEX in February. Much cheaper 800 euros instead of 1200 in premium economy. To be honest - cost cutting only achieves so muc...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

LH leaving SN die a slow death…
The Thomas Cook consequences should be overcome in the medium term, is there is a medium term for SN.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

What about getting back to the topic of this thread : SN's fleet renewal ? Isn't there a thread where the latest post could it in ? If not, let's create one !

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Well, Guys ! I think that on an aviation geeks site we have pretty well exhausted the point and time has come to turn the corner on it. Everybody will draw its own conclusions. As Saratoga rightly pointed out in an earlier post : they must have more important issues to deal with at the moment. Can w...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

A very good suggedtion, too. But a flight serving Bamako only would probably not be profitable unless SN gets a A321LR with a proper long haul business class. Or extend the flight to.. ? Libreville (for instance ? )

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

With the demise of Aigle Azur which had many flights to Algeria and the small over-capacity at SN due to TCs grounding, perhaps SN could consider flying in the week-ends to Algiers (and other Algerian cities). Just a thought...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

Saudia at BRU is probaly not for the near future. The Kingdom still has to develop its tourist industry (which can be done a loft faster than in a country like Belgium). However, its tourism, imho, will mainly target arab/muslim tourists (I'm not saying there is no market for that in Belgium, but pe...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Of course, CS is not taking revenge on SN because his initial EW project collapsed. The guy must, however, be very frustrated. And I continue to be convinced that he would have preferred not to have "inherited" SN. As some members have probalby rightly said, he keeps SN alive in BRU, at least for th...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

I've been contributing in various topics over the past weeks and months and figured a dedicated topic will be more beneficial. The title is provocative but it is my view on the situation and is intended at fostering discussions. SN has had some growth on its existing markets in Africa over the past...

The Reboot Plan will need to be rebooted !
Not only the "Reboot Plan" will need to be rebooted...all the fleet will need to bee rebooted too. How LH can accept that ?
Here comes the acid test for CS !

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

I am not an expert in management but can it be a plan of LH waiting to see SN going bust and then refill the open slots by their own aircraft based in Brussels?? Cause in the end, they got SN for very cheap money. SN was virtually bankrupt, it may have been cheap money, but cheap money for somethin...

No reaction, explanation in a press release, press conference, no communication to employees from CF about SN's recent ongoing problems with the long haul fleet ? «Silence radio» ? Sabena/SR scenario ? «Chronique d'une mort annoncée».

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

That train story is complete bull***** for me. Have done this a couple of times with Air France through CDG -> never again. There are sufficient options elsewhere to avoid a train to AMS or CDG to reach your destination... The train as a feeder service to a nearby major airport does make sense, but...
