Re: Air Belgium in 2019

Would seem logical. At least, FIH. I referred to rumors in a previous post.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

LH and LX (Star Alliance) and CX (OneWorld) to code share extensively https://www.air-journal.fr/2019-07-17-cathay-pacific-partage-avec-lufthansa-et-swiss-destinations-inattendues-5213819.html I presume this was negotiated before SN was taken out of EW. Any chance SN will code share with CX, too ? ...

Re: Lufthansa in 2019

Actually, I pay for the voluntary compensation of CO² emissions when it is possible. However, what upsets me it, is that , for instance, an airline like KLM, did not refund this amount when I cancelled my ticket (let alone the additional fees for seat selection etc...). Anyway, at the risk of attrac...

Re: Lufthansa in 2019

CS is right, of course, but he would not have said that if EW had been a success. Now, he's trying to fight mainly Ryanair in a different way.

I agree, without a (French) tour operator it is doomed.

Re: Air Belgium in 2019

I sincelery wish them good luck, but I cannot refrain from wondering if they know what they are doing. Or perhaps, it's just rumors (RDC). At first sight, the triangular flights to the French Antilles don't seem a good idea to me. Nonstop flights, yes. I have always wondered why SN had not ventured ...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

All machines can break down. IT systems can stop to work. That's why sometimes aircraft take off or land with one engin only. That's why very unfortunately, sometimes a plane crashes without it being the pilots' fault. Sometimes your car will not start in the morning. Ideally, these things should no...

Re: Alitalia near bankruptcy. Can it be saved?

Just to cheer this thread up a bit : "like most Italian dramas, it should end with a happy wedding, a party and lot's of wine, drinking and singing"....(I hope :) )

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

If SN is now re-integrating the Network-Airlines, why would they apply a very different on board catering practice than their three "brothers" or "sisters" ?

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Lounge access against payment unless you are Senator/Star Alliance Gold. Did they really ask their frequent passengers ? Possible, but it is an argument sometimes used to push through a new policy (but perhaps they did). However, if you have to pay for a glass or bottle of water when you pay 200 eur...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

A stap back from a true hybrid model ?
I've just made a random simulation BRU STO return : 195 vs 440 euros. For the 250 euros difference, they could continue to offer free catering on top of more flexibilty, fast lane and priority boarding.
This going to make them loose business pax.

Re: Strikes affecting Belgian airports in 2019

Indeed, the multinational structure of the company had been explained already. I had not forgotten that, but my post was too short and not clear enough (sorry). Unlike you, Jan, I am not willing to accept that multinational corporations use rogue methods to favour their shareholders and exploit thei...

Re: Strikes affecting Belgian airports in 2019

It's always the same discussion but the employees have to work in normal conditions and nothing more and that's all they ask for and that's how it's going to be. Ultraliberalism here reaches its limits...and that while Brussels Airport makes tremendous profits it's outrageous I think it's disgustin...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Indeed, there must be lease contracts to be respected. My point is (I was not clear on this) that any additional plane or replacement should be a young plane, which seems to be more and more the case, while waiting for factory new planes some day (in an ot to distant future hopefully)
