Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

The question I am asking myself is why were sn brussels airlines and brussels airlines for so many years reliable airlines and why is SN long haul the new Air Afrique aka Air Peut-Etre (Air Perhaps). Correct me if I am wrong, but long haul worked well under BG with older aircraft. Why is it becoming...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

For the attention of Passenger.

Amazing how about every single topic here turns into an anti Brussels Airlines topic.
Upon PttU's request, can you tell us something really positive at the moment about SN.
Thanks

Re: Transavia to fly from BRU with 2 Boeing 737s in Summer 2020

Absolutely right, Conti764. In commercial relations, a supplier of goods or services is allowed to grant discounts to his best/largest clients. That is not State aid. Imho, but I am not a lawyer, if BAC refuses to grant more favourable conditions to his best clients when these are negotiating with t...

Re: Transavia to fly from BRU with 2 Boeing 737s in Summer 2020

If/when there is a re-allocation of slots at AMS, it is not sure that KL will get additional slots. If they get additional slots, KL, imho, will use them for KL not for TV. Still imho, there is a market for TV at BRU. As some members rightly pointed out, they should look at unserved or underserved d...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Does anyone know for sure if SN is legally (juridisch/juridiquement) separated (divorced) from EW ? Are they standing alone ? (as LH still leaves SN in limbo). Like other members rightly pointed out, it is not by shrinking that you solve the problem. Expanding in promissing/profitable markets is par...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

Let's wait for a communcation from HV next Week. My feeling, fwiw, is that they will start by cautiously and carefully test the market. If the response is good, they will expand (why not ? with TC broke and SN without boost from LH).

Re: Lufthansa in 2019

AF/KL have also recently "restructured" their FFP, but it not as bad as M&M. Btw, when I go to the M&M web page, I have the feeling they mainly want you to spend your miles on everything except "bonus" tickets. And they want you to spend a huge number of miles for items/products which are not worth ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Cathay Belgium definitely has a point. However, I don't think AF/KL would be interested in setting up another hub at BRU. Perhaps KL if they really cannot grow anymore at AMS (perhaps !). If ever there is a Brexit, I'd rather see BA set up a (small) hub at BRU. As for the rest, reducing service is n...

Re: Lufthansa in 2019

And there are now cuts in premium economy and economy. https://onemileatatime.com/lufthansa-reducing-economy-meal-service/ At this point I am happy it chose IB for my trip to MEX in February. Much cheaper 800 euros instead of 1200 in premium economy. To be honest - cost cutting only achieves so muc...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Well, Guys ! I think that on an aviation geeks site we have pretty well exhausted the point and time has come to turn the corner on it. Everybody will draw its own conclusions. As Saratoga rightly pointed out in an earlier post : they must have more important issues to deal with at the moment. Can w...
