Re: World Airline Awards: SN deteriorating

Rankings can be subjective, of course. As to LH's Five-Star ranking at Skytrax : I recently took two Business class return flights with LH to Mexico City, "paying" with M&M miles. My conclusion : LH = Three Star Airline as regards on the ground and in-flight service and catering. It was not just one...

For me this has been written in the stars just like Korongo's demise (this statement will seem pretentious to some, sorry).

Re: Eurowings in 2019

Thanks for reminding us of a few facts, Poiu
From what I read, it seems that CS/TD have a lot of imagination which does not pay off.
How far to the bottom will they be able to go in terms and wage and working conditions ?
Pathetic !

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Poiu, can you please explain this : "The ones who travel to Turkey to fly four domnestic C sectors to obtain M&M Gold status". Unless the rules have changed recently, you need 100,000 qualifying miles in one year to get M&M Gold (Senator) status !

Re: Lufthansa in 2019

You are right, Poiu. Have you got any idea how they find pilots and cc to work under such poor conditions ?
(well, the same goes for FR, I presume).
Another good reason not to fly EW ?

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Unfortunately, I must agree with Poiu. The vast majority of leisure travellers don't care which airline they fly as long as it is cheap. Hence, the huge success of Ryanair all over Europe. Something CS wants to duplicate. We'll see if he succeeds. Moreover, most leisure travellers don't know and don...

Re: Jet Airways temporarily suspending their ops, is it definitive ?

It's always said to see an airline go. The vacuum left by 9W is slowly being filled by Virgin Atlantic, KLM and probably others. Too bad SN's flights to BOM did not last until 9W was grounded. They could have offered connections not only to YYZ, but also to European cities. Am thinking in the first ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Hi all, I was recently on an SN flight to YYZ on one of their A332. I was in business class and I was surprised only 11 from the XX (32?) seats were taken. The service is (as usual) quite good, but the business class itself is worn out, especially the litlle tables do not work wel anymore (they kno...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

I don't want to sound like a prophet of doom, but imho, no decision has yet been made on what will happen to the flights (aircraft and brand) to Africa, because if CS does not manage to get EW (including SN's European operations) out of the red, he will also integrate Brussels Airlines (brand) and A...

Quoting brusselsairlinesfan : Exactly... to me, her mission is to (dis)integrate SN into EW. The last « réal » SN CEO to me was Bernard GUSTIN who left because he was opposed to this doomed to fail strategy... Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

(still off topic). I don't think you don't understand your French colleagues when they speak American English with a French accent, because it's American English. It would probably have been the same with British English + an accent, be it French, Italian, Spanish, Danish, Swedish, Dutch (much worse...

Re: Eurowings in 2019

What's the meaning behind this ? Are CS/TD contradicting themselves ? EW not doing as expected and looking for "virtual" partners to get more pax ? Or has anyone a different interpretation ? https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/lufthansa-group/eurowings/eurowings-teams-up-with-norwegian-and-sunexpress...

Q1 figures are indeed generally bad. No reason for them to be better for SN than LH, but perhaps better than EW. Will we ever know ?

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

I had my doubts when it was mentioned that the new iconic livery would be Bruegel and I was right (imho). Bruegel is undoubtedly a great Flemish master, but his work is not something you can easily and successfully represent on an aircraft. And for me it's a total flop ! I could imagine people sayin...

Re: Eurowings in 2019

Eurowings also applies for a blanket statement of authorisation to display the two-letter OS designator code of Austrian Airlines on Eurowings flights between the EU and the US. Any other one? The two-letter code SN of Brussels Airlines for example? Unfortunately, the answer might be fairly easy. S...

LH will sent the first batch to the Brussels base of EW ! For once, Brussels would get brand new aircraft ! One would wonder why !

Dear Atlantis ! I know that Budapest is the capital of Hungary and Prague the capital of the Czech Republic. And Brussels the capital of Belgium (and Flanders). As far as I know, LOT flies from BUD to NYC and Chicago only and they have one 787 "based" at BUD to operate these flights. But just as I m...

In this case, the "sponsors" will be SN's Marketing Department ! I'm astonished you had not realised that !
