Re: The Thomas Cook bankruptcy and its aftermath

"Other"? But not TUI I guess? Which airlines are mainly/usually used by those "other" package tour operators? Or is it really a big blend of all companies?

Amazing how about every single topic here turns into an anti Brussels Airlines topic.
Please, tell us something positive about SN at the moment.
In an Austrian-topic?

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

SN will never be able to compete with Aeroflot with both the same service level and the same price for the simple reason labour is much cheaper in Russia than in Western-Europe, let alone Belgium. And on top of that the very strict no-state-aid-policy of the European Union. They can for connecting ...

Re: Trivia 2019 (miscellaneous news)

To me it seems like two different things: "Vietnam bans the import of leased aircraft of more than 10 years old from entering the country, effective 01 January 2020. Aircraft currently on lease cannot be more than 20 years old by lease expiry. Cargo aircraft shall not exceed 15 years old at time of ...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

I wonder why BRU airport thinks there's any need for yet another operator to say Malaga or Alicante? Next to Ryanair, Vueling, Jetair and Brussels Airlines? Really??? As 737MAX rightfully says, they're not going to grow the market, just pissing off airlines which have been building their ope...

Re: Trivia 2019 (miscellaneous news)

Looks like it, indeed! The A220 seems to be really good compared to the E2. Although one airline in Belgium thinks the E2 is a better product, but I fail to see why honestly... any specialist in the E2/A220 battle around here? :) Sorry lumumba, my question was more about performance, specifications...

As mentioned on facebook: according to https://www.acl-uk.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/LCY-S20-Initial-Coordination-report.pdf Air Antwerp has been granted 44 weekly slots at London City Airport LCY: 12 more compared to the 32 current flights (5 days x 6 + 1 round-trip on Sunday). Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

If you want to invest in something new, you need the money to invest. If you need a loan for that money, and your profitability is only around 1%, you might pay more in interest for that loan than the savings they would bring. As I heard the reboot-plan, it was about making more profit first and to ...

But I agree: it would be smarter to have a plane in STAR colours actually flying, ideally one of their big ones even, because on the intercontinental routes, they are a far more valuable asset to STAR then on regional routes in Europe.
But where is the alliance a valuable asset to SN?

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Let's not jump to conclusion regarding today's news, it's only based on rumours so far. But a shrink can't be a big surprise to all of us, Thomas Cook was good for 800-900k passengers per year (about 10% of short haul capacity), so it is widely expected that 2020 will be a shrink due to the TC bank...

It's containers on a platform on wheels, so in stead of changing the wheels they might as well just transfer the containers.
I'm curious how they plan the machinists on those trains... I hope they're not away from home for 20 days.
