Re: BRU Summer 2024: news, new routes, airlines

Summer 24 vs. 23 +5 A320neo -2 A320 -2 A319 -2 CRJ (Cityjet wetlease) There is no extra capacity on short haul this summer. The industry measures capacity in ASK (available seat kilometer). 5 A320neo's is a significant jump in capacity. More passengers on the same route does count. On the route upg...

Re: BRU Summer 2024: news, new routes, airlines

I hope the list of SN increases in frequencies is not only London? There are increases on the leisure destinations bcs SN decreased a lot on other destinations during Summer. Even when they receive extra capacity via the new A320neo. But yes, they increase also Summer 24 vs. 23 +5 A320neo -2 A320 -...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024

Does anyone know when the OO-SNN airbus 320 (eurowings colours) will get a new livery? Tx for your answers! In due time when it will become necessary for technical reason. OO-SNN is almost 14 yo and joined the fleet in eurowings livery in May 2019. It should be repainted within 2 years if it stays ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024

It''s a real crisis at this moment. Belgian pilots, mostly copilots, are leaving for other skies (major airlines, in the Middle East,...). Hiring new guys is difficult. Especially at the conditions Belgian airlines offer. After learning this news, Aviation24.be had a conversation with a Brussels Ai...

^^ If that was true, all planes would be white. Clearly 'brands' and brand identity matters. Every marketeer will explain you why. Meanwhile in Billund... Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023

I completely understand and agree with longwing's point about the inconsistency of SN when it comes to their (long haul) aircraft. It's a "potpourri" of different liveries, interiors,... I understand that a new livery or interior can't be applied immediately and that it can wait until a s...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2022

Maybe they can also cancel the CDG,FRA etc... Flight's and maybe it's easier to fill them in afterwards. Thanks Lumumba. That could be a good reason indeed. Cancelling both all long haul and their feeder flights on the same day results in better load factors. H.A. Lumumba is right. Every feeder fli...

Re: BRU Summer 2022: news, new routes, airlines

But OK, this is off topic, but still interesting why SN is not flying to that important city where a lot of Belgian construction companies are based and for many other reasons. Political??? This is just because you have to make choices with 38 planes iso 54 before Covid, in my opinion. A 39th plane...

Re: BRU Summer 2022: news, new routes, airlines

SN doesn't restart WAW probably because it's not so important for its network. Moreover competition from CRL is very hard (FR and W6).

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

According to my observations on FR24, flights to/from Africa are operated by a single crew who stay overnight abroad with the aircraft. This kind of ops can explain the current timetable.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Some people here seem to see SN as a playground where they think they can manage their fleet like they could do in a simulation video game. Reality is much more complicated. A few element that pop up in my mind and that could bring some context/explanations: - lh fleet imobilization is not foreseeab...

Very pity about Cathay Pacific....knowing Air Belgium could not start the route because they where already flying it. At the end Brussels Airport will lose everything it's not so exiting at the end the new routes are more rumoured than real and Cathay is not doing well. Besides Asiana are even in a...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

Better train connections are part of the solution. Not everybody lives near a train station where trains stop to go to BRU (even with just one stopover). However, better timetables and more frequencies can help. As to the price of the train ticket, I would suggest to the NMBS/SNCB to lower the fare...
