Re: KJK 24/10/2021
I was surprised to see this at KJK. Its following flight was briefly the most tracked flight on FR24 with over 600 people tracking. Was there anything special about this flight? Anyone happen to know why it was delayed? The following flight was the positioning flight from KJK to BRU, the kind of fl...

Re: BRU Summer 2021: news, new routes, airlines
Just heard on the news that the UK will probably set up an "airbridge" between Belgium and the UK to transport vaccins. This will probably be flown by a Royal Air Force A400M. No idea from what airport they will fly but BRU would be the most logic one. (No known date yet) Maybe ANR? 😌 Pfi...

Re: BRU 28/10/2020
Wonder why they do not fly to ANR, B737 in VIP-setting and from/to the UK should be no problem from the short runway. Finally Antwerpen has a soccer team that plays in the European League, and flights go to Brussels... , teams that play against Club Brugge or AA Gent go to OST. Clearly, there is a c...

Re: Air Antwerp in 2020
you can't book a LCY in may anymore june is still available but that isn't a good sign ! The lockdown in the UK has been extended till at least the 2nd week of May. In Belgium, it is still not clear when international travel can start (borders remain closed till 3rd of May for sure). How could you ...

Re: Air Antwerp in 2020
Well, my reasoning is, since AMS is just a milestone away from ANR and easy reachable by train, why would you allow your ‘partner, to compete with you going to the same destination? But that is just me reasoning like that. Just curious how all this will evolve. 1. The capture area of ANR is not onl...

Re: Air Antwerp in 2020
VLM grew too fast and was not always ‘clever’ in selecting destinations. It is not true that all their routes failed, for example Aberdeen. Southampton, Manchester and Zurich had good load factors and high yields. But others (Maribor, Munchen, Cologne) were not successful. Also they had no codeshare...

Re: Air Antwerp in 2019
Normal schedule resumes on 31 January, which also appears on the KLM booking engine. Meanwhile, the AIr Antwerp website still sells afternoon flights in January, which will not be operated! On KLM booking engine, all flights are bookable as from beginning January, also midday flights, so Air Antwer...

Re: Air Antwerp in 2019
In the meantime Air Antwerp already reacted on another website as follows: ”This article (aviation24.be) is inaccurate. There are some cutbacks in the Xmas and New Year’s period, but from January onwards all flights at noon will be operated daily with the exception of Tuesdays and Saturdays. Total n...

Re: Air Antwerp in 2019
People should check information before making (cynic) announcements. If you look at the KLM website, all flights are back to normal as from 1st Feb (3 times daily and 2 on Sun). Those who know ANR operations, would remember that January is always a very slow month on this route because of holiday se...

Re: Air Antwerp in 2019
Putting stickers on a plane is not a simple process, as some of you think. 1. Material: the stickers used cannot be bought in a standard shop like Carrefour. A technical drawing describing every detail has to be made, the stickers may not be applied to any component that gets warm during the flight ...

Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
As usual, the GvA is the voice of the Groen! party. Now that Ingrid Pira has not been re-elected, Wouter Van Besien will do the job. I am not sure the city council is fully aware of this dispute, or if it is stirred up by a(n) (over-active) civil servant. Obviously, this tax was never discussed nor ...

Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
Until the arrival of TUI (which I continue to regret, but I must admit there are good points to it too) Can you please explain why you ‘regret’ the arrival of TUI at ANR? At least the airport has a steady income and is getting known to the bigger public. Please don’t copy the thinking of the green ...

Correction: Nador goes to 3 flights per week, not 4. So no doubling but still increase of frequency.
And flights to INN will go from 2 to 3 times per week for the last 6 weeks of the winter schedule (peak season for ski holidays).
At least some good news for ANR after VLM ‘debacle’.

And LH thinks that most of the belgians will go to DUS to take a plane Actually, my friends in Limburg are so fed up with the traffic jams on their way to BRU and the possible queue's at security and border controll they're flying from DUS anyway. Cheers, Stij Finally a reality check. Although some...

Re: VLM (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018
I have no issue about people being skeptical, but do not mix things up: —-> lumumba: Antwerp Airport does not depend on VLM’s success or failure. Of course it has an impact, but TUI and FlyBe are much more important for the sustainability of the airport. And for sure TUI will grow further. Also, man...

Re: VLM (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018
To a318: I do not have any intention to start a long argumentation on this forum. You may be right about special fares for seamen, it is not relevant (and not all pax were seamen...). Fact is that VLM stopped, that the load factor on ABZ was high (and far better than Munich, Maribor, Cologne, Birmin...

Re: VLM (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018
To A318: Maybe you are not following closely the flights at ANR, I do. And I have personally seen that the load factors on ZRH and ABZ were quite good lately, sometimes even better than LCY (which has been generally the best business destination). More people started to know both services and booked...

Re: VLM (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018
VLM times are over, maybe yes (even if somebody takes some of the activities, they need to change the brand name, which is now completely destroyed). But I still highly believe in the potential of the routes to LCY, ZRH, and ABZ. The load factors on the latter two were quite satisfactory the last fe...

Re: VLM (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018
One more thing, maybe time for Mr Buelens to urgently look for a more trustworthy operator for the LCY-ANR route (BA or FlyBe?), just in case... It is great to have a ‘home’ carrier, but when this home carrier is negatively impacting the image of your airport, it is time to change. Also all the nega...
