Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
Well, the story continues. Another, or the same, technical problem with the luggage belt system today... it’s really becoming a bit too much now.

Heavy turbulence on AF474 CDG-PTY
I was on this flight today and after about 6,5 hours into the flight, the plane was hit by unexpected very heavy turbulence. 2 elderly people waiting in front of rest room were injured, one of them quite severely with broken bones. The turbulence only lasted a couple of seconds.

Re: Brussels region noise regulation
Brussels considers the conflict of trust unlawful and starts charging the fines from midnight. About a year ago terrorists bombed the airport, now politicians are doing the same. The discussion about the future of SN or any other development of carriers in BRU will be come obsolete very quickly. Th...

The latest statement from Vanhengel: We ( Brussels) will not change our mind, a good solution would be to move the airport 1800 meter backwards.

Re: Brussels region noise regulation
I'm also afraid that it's a highly political issue right now. The only thing I'm pretty sure of is that not one airline will start paying fines. If they are forced to pay, they will move their operations.

Re: News from Eurowings 2016-2017
The long-haul pricing at Eurowings looks very strange to me. I booked DUS-MIA 2-14 march, 325 euro with Swiss. Eurowings out of CGN was more expensive. Why would people choose to fly them if they are more expensive? Plus, I think you have to pay for everything on board ( luggage, entertainment, ... ...

Re: Breaking: IST airport terrorist attack
If I remember well there are some pre-terminal checks present at IST, from the pictures it looks as if the bombs went off outside the terminal.

Re: Strikes affecting Belgian airports in 2016
Belgium is for sure not a "failed state", bit I'm more and more afraid that we are evolving into a "failed airport" Failed state? Failed airport? I think we can reduce it further more, to "failed trade unions". That's for sure. But in the eyes of passengers, we're talk...

Re: Brussels Airlines' punctuality
I flew alot out of BRU pre 22/03. Had 6 flawless flights out of DUS in april and may. Flew first time out of BRU on june 6, SN2259 to CPH, 3 hours delay and return flight on 10/06 1 hour delay as aircraft arrived late in CPH. delays can always happen offcourse, but reading this I have the impression...

Re: Strikes affecting Belgian airports in 2016
Yes, I have friends stuck at the airport, waiting in line to process their "lost in strike"luggage papers.. amid total disinterest and no help whatsoever.. They landed at 08:50 and it is almost noon.. Way to go BRU! I told them to avoid BRU, they didn't listen, and now they are convinced....

Re: EgyptAir Flight MS804 CDG-CAI disappears above the Mediterranean
On Airliners.net I just read that they might have found 2 floating pieces of debris about 70 km from where they lost contact... For what its worth offcourse

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
Just my thoughts: I'm afraid that, as long as this pre-check will continue, passenger numbers will suffer. There is the fact that you will loose extra time ( more limited now ) and I'm not sure that all people want to fly in or out a semi warzone. BRU is the only airport in Western Europe doing this...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
At the bare minimum, let's try to be vocal on twitter & Facebook towards BRU airport, SN and our 'smart' politicians (including our Premier). For example: https://twitter.com/BrusselsAirport/status/727165533850865667 I have sent an email to the department of minister Jambon, asking him to get o...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
This is outrageous! They just can't keep on checking like that? who does it anyway? they don't even do it in the US or TLV! For my personal travel it's now waaaay more convenient to go to AMS,DUS,EIN,... rather than BRU with this at least 4h in advance rule and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one ...

It looks like there is a problem this morning at the main departures building: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/ChbxBN6WUAAj3AO.jpg I really hope that common sense returns and that this situation can improve soon. This has nothing to do with security, I would feel completely NOT safe when standing in a ...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
Or other airports in Belgium... Some airlines are giving alternatives. And why not BRU? 1. Other airports in Belgium have the same 3 hrs rule imposed by the Federal Police. 2. Airports abroad generally ask to be there 2 hrs in advance. If you add the time from BRU to those airports, you reach easil...
