Re: Explosions in the Departure Hall of Brussels Airport!

VRT says nobody was killed at Maalbeek. Thus it should be 21 at BRU. With certainty 10 people were killed Andre. Source: VRT Radio (StuBru), confirmed by FedPol. Could you blurr the photo of Maalbeek above? Human parts are clearly visible... According to Het Nieuwsblad there are currently 43 fatali...

Re: 2015 Ostend-Bruges airport (OST/EBOS) latest news

Not hard to pinpoint these 'anonymous' sources. Around here they are known as WILOO and they have been trying to close the airport for decade ... Easy to make accusations without proof or even file an official complaint. Of course the Belgian press will publish this, half their articles are pure sen...

Re: A320 Germanwings crashed in France

Latest reports say a distress call came in right before the crash (below 10.000ft) so I assume at the least one of the pilots was still alive. This makes me think of the possibility that the crew wasn't aware they were in a descent (up till the moment they sent a distress call). Anyone have weather...

Re: A320 Germanwings crashed in France

Waaaaay to early to speculate and especially to state that "they could have easily diverted" Ok, I should have been more clear. What I ment was, if this was a light to moderate technical error, they could have easily diverted to one of these airports, given the facts that there we...

Re: A320 Germanwings crashed in France

Some quick thoughts about the possible cause of the crash when looking at flightdata provided by FR24. http://www.flightradar24.com/data/airplanes/d-aipx/#5d42675 - Aircraft maintained heading during descent - Speed was more or less constant with a slight reduction in the final moments What worries ...

Re: CDG - 06/02/2015 (50+ pics)

It is possible to get to CDG by train, but getting to the spotting locations by public transport or on foot will be a pain in the a** ! CDG is one airport I would personally never do without car. Main reason being the need for a 4-step ladder at most of the locations. Permits can be requested to the...

CDG - 06/02/2015 (50+ pics)

Had a great day at CDG last friday. Was pretty sunny but terribly cold. Maximum temperature of -2°C with a -14°C windchill due to the strong north-easterly winds. Anyway, here's the result : https://www.flickr.com/photos/128783411@N02/sets/72157650292143208 *EDIT : Found how to link images directly ...

BRU 15/06/2014

Anything special expected ?

I've seen OO-SFO is on it's way to COO, so it should land back at BRU around 07:30. The flight left BRU 1 hour late, so it could arrive a bit later too.

[PICS] DUS 09/06/2014 (First scimitar winglets in Europe ?)

Hi all, After a long time of inactivity, I finally got the chance to go spotting again. Following weather predictions, Dusseldorf came out as the best option. We left at 02:30 to get there by 06:00. Weather was slightly cloudy at first, but cleared up completely afterwards. I selected 40 of my shots...

Re: Replacement of Brussels Airlines' Boeing & Avro RJ fleet

Maybe a stupid question, but what's the reason this aircraft is currently in Ostrava? Is it there for painting? According to Skyliner : acc flt 04apr14 OSR-ZRH-OSR after paint, M-reg prior delivery AS far as I can read this, after being painted, it flew to ZRH and back. No idea why it went to Zuric...

Re: Four A350-900s for Brussels Airlines ???

The article clearly states they reached an agreement with primary shareholder Lufthansa about the renewal of the fleet. So, in my opinion, there is a very big chance the aircraft will come from LH. If it will be A359 ... well, that's something else. It would be very nice ofcourse, but I would not pu...

Re: Which A330 next for Brussels Airlines?

While the original 3 A330's (SFM, N & O) are powered by CF6's, all later added aircraft have PW4000 engines. Keeping this commonality in mind, my guess would be that any new A330 for SN would be PW4000 powered. TAM currently operates 5 A330's powered by CF6 and 15 (including the 5 oldest of the ...

Re: National Air Cargo crashed in Bagram, Afghanistan

There is a very simple explanation for the aircraft's high angle of attack at the beginning of the video. The surroundings of Bagram Airport are considered hostile territory, so the standard procedure is to take off with full power and climb as fast as possible, hence the high angle. When you are ne...

Re: Spotting Guide : What info do you want ?

You can add a spotting location on the top of Terminal 5, a good place for both 27R and 27L. Thanks for the info. I don't post new locations unless I've checked them out myself, but I'll be sure to check it out on my next trip to Heathrow ! What I would find useful is also a sample image of the loc...
