Emirates cancels order 70 Airbus 350

In fact I am not surprised to read this . At this moment they still have +- 150 aircraft on order (+- 90 A380 and 56 773ER) Despite the fact that they continue to grow I think that they are approaching their limits. Especially as they face continues competition with our players in the Middle East (Q...

Re: Malaysia Airlines says it has lost contact with flight M

I do not believe in an accident neither in suicide. Accident : why the pilot did not inform ATC? Suicide for that he does not have to change the direction ! Now they are searching at the Maledives but as it was a 777-200ER the aircraft could even reach African coast ! Are there unused airports in th...

Belgium has to buy some fighter aircraft together with Holland. Small numbers and a joint interceptor program .

Re: Replacement of Brussels Airlines' Boeing & Avro RJ fleet

i think the best choice is to invest in CRJ 700/900/1000 aircraft or similar (emb 170-175- 190-195) Airbus 319/320 aircraft are too expensive and sometimes too big for their network. They have to invest in cost and fuel efficient aircraft and try to offer a good point-to-point European network. Espe...

Re: Alitalia again near bankruptcy

This is a never ending story.
How long will it take before they need money again.
Everyone know the reason why AZ is making loss.
Their structure and organization makes them simply "burn" the money.

Unknow aircraft near Diest on 22/09/2013

This afternoon I was cycling in Waanrode (near Diest) and I saw a one propellered , maybe wwII aircraft which came probably from Schaffen.
It was clearly a very old one as the sound of the prop was very specific.
It was all grey/silver. Flying southeast .

Did anyone see this aircraft ?

Lufthansa's A340s

Does anyone has an idea why Lufthansa keeps his A340 -300 and A340-600 in service. These 4 engined aircraft are not cost effective and since many years there are better alternatives , Boeing 777-200ER /300ER. And now it seems that they still want to continue to fly with these a340 for many years. Wa...

Re: Lufthansa Group orders new long-haul aircraft

Does anyone has an idea why LH keeps their Airbus A-340 fleet so long.

Most airline phased out their fleet because this 4 engined acft is not cost efficient.

I never understood why they also choose the A340-600 ; 777-200ER and 777-300ER are in every way a far better choice.

Any ideas?

Re: BrusselsAirlines - the TURBOPROPS will come!

turboprops are necessary for Brussels airlines to reduce operating cost on the shorthaul services. But on the other hand I should start also to introduce the embraer 170/175/195 or RJ 700/900/100 family instead of ordering more A319/320. I should even decrease the number of A319/320 in the fleet. Re: Lufthansa to dismantle and then rebuild itself

Let's add some drama. LH, AF and co have to re-build their companies from the ground up. Back-offices and overhead are not the big issue here. If I were CEO of such a big group, I would think bigger. The solution is simple and obvious, they just don't see it. LH and AF will go down if they don't ra...
