Re: Eurowings in 2019

Good to have an expert (or insider?) on board! Thanks Poiu. The real insiders are gone here. Sick and tired of all the crap and all the nonsense that is posted about SN and/or LH and/or EW in almost every topic here. Luckily the official gospel is there to bring the lost souls back to the right tra...

Re: Eurowings in 2019

Btw, it is interesting to note that SN has been allowed to rent several aircraft (from LH) in order to have this ACMI contract with EW for these DUS flights that don't seem too successful, but isn't allowed to add one single long-haul aircraft for its own operations. That one has been explained bef...

Re: Eurowings in 2019

don’t forget that the EW long haul by SN is a form of money transfer from one unit to another within the same company. If that transfer r stops the results in Brussels will be worse. Do you have evidence of that? Are these DUS flights profitable? The profitability of the flights is not relevant! Ew...

Re: Brussels Airlines' monthly traffic figures

FWIW, that gives them a market share at their home market of close to 41% . That completes this month's number crunching then, at least on the operational side, unless somebody manages to dig up their market share figure for May 2018 to compare against the figure for this year? ;) May 2018 was a ra...

Re: Eurowings in 2019

It is becoming urgent that the performance of SN, isolated from that of EW, be well identified. Kristina Foerster's role and duty as CEO is to defend her own airline within the LH group. To achieve what? Brussels Airlines is not doing well, the results are not as bad as the rest of Eurowings, but n...

May 2019 figures compared to May 2018: Pax: 928,500 (+5.1%) - Short-haul +4.8%, long-haul + 6.8% LF: 78.9% (-1.45%) That's way better than the Eurowings aggregated figures : -2.7% (-3.1% on short-haul, +3.2% on long-haul). Draw your own conclusions! Difficult to draw conclusions, a LF of 78.9 in Ma...

Re: Lufthansa in 2019

I can only observe that, in his quest for making his pet-project EW successful, he seems ready to do anything, including to crush SN, but not only SN: he's even allowing EW to compete with flagship LH on important routes. That does look a bit messy, doesn't it? Are they competing or are the flights...

:( IATA announced that Carsten Spohr, Chairman and CEO of Lufthansa, will serve as Chairman of the Board of Governors from June 2019, following Al Baker’s (Qatar Airways) term. Re: English language skills and training

Yes yes, of course - this remark had to come, of course - that is exactly my point: many round here are narrowing down "aviation" to "commercial air transport" and there is indeed much more to it. No, one does not have to be a pilot - but if interested in cooking, I expect people to try and learn f...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Therefore, it would be interesting to know the split; moreover, maybe LCCs should have a close look at these 2 routes/opportunities for the ptp pax. Frankfurt and Munich are no tourism destinations - contrary to Berlin. Point to point traffic thus is almost limited to a business clientele, and they...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Actually, with Lufthansa controlling BRU’s main carrier, Lufthansa avoids competition on their very busy and very high yield routes BRU-FRA and BRU-MUC. Are you sure about that? Usually, airlines offer a very good deal to connecting pax, to the point that the "feeding" leg doesn't bring much money,...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

I disapprove of any abuse of the system, be it by the atcos or by the management. However, if some of the atcos consider that skeyes' procedures (even those decided by a "paritair" committee) contravene with the EU regulations, they have every right (obligation maybe) to fight them imho.

I don't know if it was already mentioned. OO-SNN ( MSN4269 ex OE-LOE) will join the Brussels Airlines fleet in june 2019. Didn't get OE-LOE but OE-LOG. Ex Air Berlin, 17th A320 for Brussels Airlines and youngest of the fleet, only 9 years old, currently at Larnaca, Republic of Cyprus. To be exact S...
