Still the luckiest airline in the world.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
it is interesting to see that LH ignored first the other airlines such as Delta's failed approach with SONG, that a legacy carrier and a low-cost carrier under one roof doesn't really work. The mentality of a low cost carrier is hard to unify with legacy carrier. It is more difficult that legacy car...

Re: Eurowings in 2019
IMHO, what will likely happen is that EW will not yield the "promised" profits on the long term, and I predict that EW will have two pillars (in order to avoid that CS is losing face): -> Accelerate to replace all LH-flights that have a pressure on the costs (due the higher costs of LH-met...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
Meanwhile, Turkish Airlines is allowed to fly 7 (!!) times per week to Kinshasa. Indeed, but with a Boeing 737 MAX 8, the capacity is much lower than on SN's A330. And I am sure that the Belgian diplomatic representation in Kinshasa is pushing the new President to grant additional slots to Brussels...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
It is interesting to see how LH's senior management old school believes that they need a low-cost carrier (Eurowings). Look at Air France-KLM decided to reduce different (low-cost) brand names and harmonize everything, it is just cheaper to have one brand. AF-KLM came to the senses that Joon/HOP! co...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
As I suspected long time ago, Carsten Spohr' pet project must succeed and he will sacrifice SN to show better results and reap the bonusses for his promises to the Board of Directors concerning EW performance. One of the way to shore up EW performance is to prevent SN to publish the passenger number...

Re: Brussels Airport monthly traffic figures
Interesting isn't? AI not allowed to fly to BRU... The idea of an alliance (Star Alliance) is basically a cover up. It is similar to Turkish Airlines; they are part of THY and they basically steal PAX from all the members of the alliance. Star Alliance's members are basically protecting each of them...

Re: WOW announcing services from BRU !
Well... it seems that the portal was not wrong... as WOW Air is going to be acquired by Icelandair.
It will give Icelandair the opportunity to get rid off the aging B757 aircraft and rationalize their route network.

Ref: https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/lufthansa-group/brussels-airlines/brussels-airlines-extends-loyalty-programme-loop/ Interesting... I have the impression that Lufthansa doesn't want that SN is using M&M as it is a point-to-point network. Up to now, LOOP had some reason of existence togeth...

WOW Air bankrupt, restarts as PLAY
I'm not really surprised about the situation of WOW Air and the Icelandair financial situation. - Airports are increasing their tax and fees while both airlines are keeping the tariffs very low. - You will need to move tons of passengers to make a some bucks. - I've been couple of times on Icelandai...

THY tend to codeshare only when they don't fly with their own metal.
If they fly with their metal then the other partner doesn't codeshare often.

THY seems to embark on an relentless expansion journey... and trying to mimicing Emirates Airlines and Qatar Airways. The question is of course... is THY not digging their own grave.. I've more and more the suspicion that THY entered STAR Alliance in order siphon more passengers to their own flights...

Re: Gulf airlines - double standards ?
Unfortunately, this is very true. I have flown with Emirates (Skywards Gold status), Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways. For the international routes (excl. Middle-Eastern routes), people are generally well treated (regardless of nationality). However, the shocker starts when it is a "Middle-East...
