Re: 2020 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

When will people understand that Antwerp airport is totally useless. (pre-corona) sustained double digit growth in pax. numbers which, in normal circumstances would have continued for some time to come... With a clear potential for more destinations like Canary & Greek Islands if suitable ai...

Re: 2020 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

When will people understand that Antwerp airport is totally useless. Why invest there in an airport having 300 000 pax a year situated in the parking of Brussels and situated 40km from an airport having 26 000 000 of pax a year, Brussels and another one of 72 000 000 pax for Amsterdam. Even if your ...

Re: 2020 Brussels South Charleroi Airport (CRL/EBCI) latest news

The Walloon region supports foreign LCC’s in CRL who then compete with legacy carriers in Brussels. As far as I know, CRL already ask many times Brussels Airlines to open some fly from CRL. They made lot of investment for Air Belgium, and TUI Fly is expended a lot in CRL. And yes in top of that CRL...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Just to know, what is the maximal range of the A321XLR with a full load, to know what are the possibilities the this type of aircraft? Airbus states 8700km meaning this aircraft can reach cities like Mexico, Bogota, Caracas, Bangkok, etc from Brussels.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

OO-SSR was to return this morning from PMI as SN1568 but this flight is cancelled according to Flightstats.com. However, she left PMI about at the planned time and his heading towards BRU as SN9922 at normal FL380. Technical? In case of zero Pax, what would be the reason/advantage to fly under a SN...

Re: BRU Winter 2020-2021: news, new routes, airlines

You should have a better look to the rest time section and you might remember (discover) that crew transportation is included in the rest time, as the rest time is calculated from block on to block off. Anyway... This schedule totally fit for the crew to fly both leg, and this has certainly calculat...

Re: BRU Winter 2020-2021: news, new routes, airlines

Taking into account per/post flight duties and transportation to/from the hotel, the rest is way less than 10h, so no way the same crew will operate the inbound flight on the next day (landing at 10.10, then takeoff at 22.00 the same day). In this schedule, my guess would be that the crew leaving B...

Re: BRU Winter 2020-2021: news, new routes, airlines

Or is another possibility that 2 crews are flying in with one being "off duty" so changing crews in Mauritius to avoid a night-stop or is that not done? Of course no. A crew performing the outbound flight can fly back directly as passenger, but no way a crew coming with the outbound flight as passe...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

As expected: the simple fact that some people demand the nationalization of Brussels Airlines, is enough for the usual SN-bashers to go loose. Sure, everyone is allowed to discuss football, cycling, politics, triathlon, modern cuisine, bagpipes, aviation, whatever. But if one does this in two newsp...

So aviation specialist only can talk about aviation? People who thing that are wrong. Re: Air Belgium in 2020

As Air Belgium seems focusing on popular destination for french people, I wonder if Air Belgium could lease a mini subfleef of 4-5 embraer 190 to fly to main french city in France to feed the flight. Or an agreement with Ryanair (Toulouse, Marseille, Nantes, Bordeaux), or TUI (Nice)

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

I'm from the north of the country. Giving up SN is simply not an option. It would decimate Zaventem Airport, the second biggest economic hub of the country after the Port of Antwerp. Both in Flanders, btw. Brussels Airport is maybe surrounded by Flanders but still the national airport. Brussels Air...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

Once again: If and only If SN is going bust, what will happen with the slots??? I would not surprised LH let SN deliberately go bust. Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

You just need to pass the certification that it, temporarly they can simply do not use them. And the DGLV has to allow an exemption on the normal regulation that only handlers can do these kind of operations. If I'm not mistaken, I read somewhere that Brussels Airlines has this status of handlers i...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

No need to be an aviation specialist to consider what is good for the economy of a country and the international trade asset of this country, better be an economist. For for the profitability of an airline, it's better to have aviation specialist. But in the case of the nationalization of an airport...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

What's the purpose of the crew then really? Greet the customer, show them the screens for the safety movie, sit down and say yes to people wanting to go to the toilet.. and give the extra smile when leaving the aircraft ??? Make half of the crew redundant then.. I can open the door when I survived ...
