Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

Do we know what's coming there ? For the moment not or nothing in near future. There are more places in that area where buildings were demolished and was just used as parking for staff afterwards. Thanks for the info. Are there other buildings that will also be demolished ? Great to see Soviet buil...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024

I've read the strike will cut the (fragile!) profits in half... Well done pilots and all parties involved, well done!

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

Just this week Schiphol announced a new bus station, and Eindhoven a nice terminal expansion project.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024

.... and as expected the strike will go ahead.

I think I'll book my summer trip to Spain with Iberia or Vueling. I want peace of mind without the constant threat of strikes with SN. (it's really disastrous for their image but they don't seem to care, so be it)

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024

Not 100% related to 2024, but Spohr revealed some very interesting insight into SN's future : LUFTHANSA IS PLANNING A NEW MAJOR PROJECT WITH UNITED Lufthansa is involving Brussels Airlines in a new cooperation with United Airlines: Teams in Frankfurt, Chicago and Brussels are working on joint conne...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

There are certainly things overdue, mosyly the bus station and car drop off is definitely not at all OK for an airport like BRU (BAC can f*ck off with the excuse it's only temporary - in the time it's there it could have been repaved, properly painted, got some nice LED lighting, a proper covered w...

If the ITA deal gets approved and ITA joins the LH 'family', maybe they could sell their unwanted and unloved child (SN) ?

SN could find a better home within IAG...

Re: Strikes affecting Belgian airports in 2023

Taxi drivers at BRU go on strike this afternoon, for a few hours, as protest against the new minimal knowledge of Dutch which the Flemish government will impose. https://www.gva.be/cnt/dmf20231229_92204002 If they don't want to learn (some basics of) Dutch, they have NO place working in Flanders. Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023

Thus it's quite hard for Brussels Airlines to built a big hub. It's not 'hard' for Brussels Airlines. They are not even trying . And with 'they' I mean SN and above all its owner LH. LH wants to keep BRU and SN small by sucking all long-haul traffic out of BRU to their hubs FRA and MUC. Today alone...

On his recent visit to Israel, PM De Croo's airplane broke down in Cairo. https://businessam.be/vliegtuig-de-croo-valt-in-panne-in-cairo/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Apparently, members of the Belgian government (and royal family) have to fly foreign, private planes as our Air Force do...

Just a few numbers to think about :) Luxair growing to a fleet of 33 aircraft for a country of 660.000 inhabitants. Belgium has 11.7 million inhabitants and SN has currently 43 aircaft. https://media1.giphy.com/media/SqfHFPbzxw98xwFOiE/200.gif?cid=6c09b952nvfgoa6jdlvb9qepyf7jqwg8fbmm41h30hc21372&...
