Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

I hope they come with an ambitious business plan in september. Enough time has been lost for SN over the last years with the ludicrous Eurowings failure!

Re: Air Belgium in 2019

As long as Air Belgium choses to fly from CRL, I don't see a bright future for them. Air Belgium seems more like a political project than a proper airline. Too bad.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

As a livery change is a big PR-operation for an airline, I don't believe this is the new livery. A new livery doesn't just show up without any communication or publicity campaign.

It's just a temporary solution. Please move on :)

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

It looks unfinished and temporary. As there is no official communication from SN, I don't believe this is the new livery. (at least I hope not!) :? https://cdn.planespotters.net/photo/977000/original/oo-sff-brussels-airlines-airbus-a330-343_PlanespottersNet_977288_0a0a8df39f.jpg Picture from https:/...

Re: Belgian Air Force news

Quite a weird air parade without Falcon, AlphaJets and SeaKing... With a good reason: these aircraft have all been phased out. Instead, we had the NH-90s, and a historical Spitfire: it doesn't happen so often! And the tricolour fumes from F-16s is also a new feature, as well as the national flag ha...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

What's happening with the blue coming from the tail to the fuselage? Not sure yet, but likely to disappear. I hope not! What's the point in keeping the brand Brussels Airlines, if they give it an unfinished livery?? When they go for the brand, they should go all the way by giving it a decent livery...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

People, that picture is obviously just an unfinished (temporary) paintjob... Just forget it.

In the meantime... I couldn't resist making this 787

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

I did some photoshop (I'm not an expert) and these are the changes I would like to see (or think that will happen): - bigger titles - no b-logo on the fuselage - all white fuselage (LH Group standard) - smaller b-logo on the tail (much more classy than the big, bulky one we have today) - no gradient...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

..., no communication... Really? I was talking about the CEO. If I was the CEO of a company that -once again- failed in its core business affecting thousands(!) of people, I would communicate. I would apologise, explain the cause(s) of the problem and talk about the measures taken to avoid this in ...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

I absolutely agree on the incompetence of BAC management. In any normal company there should be consequences after these numerous failures in keeping your core business running. Where is Arnaud Feist, the CEO ? No explanation, no communication, no plan to prevent this in the future. He's nowhere to ...

Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2019

And what would that improve on the luggage handling?? If you build a new terminal, you can build a new state of the art baggage handling system underneath. Clearly the current system can't cope with huge numbers of bags (almost every single exceptionally busy day it fails). Some drastic decisions a...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

I also think SN is going to get an updated livery. If it will have an all white fuselage, I hope the titles will be bigger (just like OS and LX). I found this image online with actual bigger titles and it looks quite good. https://sjc1.discourse-cdn.com/infiniteflight/uploads/default/original/3X/7/4...

Here we go AGAIN: major breakdown of the baggage handling system this morning at BRU. https://twitter.com/BrusselsAirport/status/1149961526234832897 This is getting ridiculous. https://images2.persgroep.net/rcs/iJ8TkK1SpWXjKp1C7lNzDx5pI_4/diocontent/152397954/_fitwidth/763?appId=2dc96dd3f167e919913d...

"Turn around" means changing direction. From low cost EW strategy towards a network carrier. At least, that's what I understand :)

SN is expected to present a business plan by the end of August.
August already? :)

Let's hope it's an ambitious plan...! SN has so much (unused) potential.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Let's hope Brussels Airlines will become more visible again in its home airport. After the terrorist attacks, the prominent sales & ticketing desk didn't reopen. Now it's totally tucked away, in a hidden corner of the departures hall. Not visible at all. https://images0.persgroep.net/rcs/2yIQ_1k0ONo...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

From the article: In March this year, the German holding ordered twenty B787-9s from Boeing - its first of the type - and twenty additional A350-900s from Airbus bringing its overall A350 backlog to forty-five of the type. It is presumed the incoming A350s and B787s will also find placement at Austr...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

On a side note: if SN is to (re)become a more 'classic' network carrier (aligned with LH, LX) I think it should/must redesign its graphic identity. If you look at the current website with all the flashy colours it looks and feels low-cost. They should upgrade to a more serious/business style graphic...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Those aren’t available second hand. LH didn’t retract that only profitable airlines receive new equipment. That applies to ‘network airlines’ as well. OS getting second hand airplanes, while LX and LH receive new ones. Maybe more efficient planes are exactly what SN needs to become a profitable net...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

This is a GREAT DAY. I was really hoping for this scenario. Turning SN into Eurowings didn't make ANY sense. Glad they realised this in the end. Better late than never 8-) In this interview in De Tijd Christina Foerster says the brand Brussels Airlines is ' no longer under discussion '. Go Brussels ...
