Re: 37 easyJet pax told to get off because plane too heavy!

I'm not really aware about the A320 performances but something looks strange to me here. Birmingham airport has a 2.600 m runway almost at sea level (300 ft high). Can't a 320 take off at MTOW with such runway ? I don't know what the wind component was that day but still.... From what I found on the...

Re: Furious Ryanair passengers refuse to leave plane at Lieg

The question is not about if it was right to divert to LGG. There was certainly a lot of reasons why the airplane diverted to LGG (money saving was maybe one). The main point is the conduct of the passengers. Threating other peoples life, stealing other people property is a crime and should be punis...

Re: Afriqyiah Airways launches Lyon service

You can't take British Airways either then because they have difficulties to differenciate grass from paved runway in Heathrow. I would also not recommend KLM as there pilots have a tendency to take off from taxiways in Amsterdam :-) Seriously, wait for for the outcome of the crash investigation bef...

Re: nightstops for crews

And for the legacy crews, they get a huge discount on the hotel prices as they mostly have a worldwide contract with some hotels (Hilton, Sheraton, Holiday Inn, Intercontinental, etc.). Airlines pay sometimes less than 50% the price you would pay if you wanted to go in such hotels. But they can assu...

Re: nightstops for crews

Hi,

As far as I know, Ryanair crews don't have night stops in outstations. They come back to their home base every night.
No idea how Easyjet is doing.

Re: British Airways (BA) will go on strike for 12 days

"BA cabin crew are paid TWICE as much as rivals on VIRGIN ATLANTIC........." So ? Why should BA crews accept a pay cut just because a competitor pays crap salaries to its own employees ? You're probably paid 10 TIMES more than the chinese of the african man (or woman) that does the same jo...

Re: British Airways (BA) will go on strike for 12 days

Your suggestion is unrealistic. You may think that cabin crews are just bar waitress in a nice suit and that you can change them overnight as they don't require any training but it is not the case. The purpose of announcing a strike is to give time for negociations. It is sad but nowadays, managemen...

Re: Will EK (Emirates) come to BRU?

I don't know if it is the real reason but I heard that EK has limited slots in AMS and that cargo pays better than PAX in AMS.
So they don't want to spoil their slots in AMS for PAX flights.

Re: AZZA transport 707 crashed in SHJ

@ Regi Please do not jump to conclusions. You might be right for this crash but you also might be wrong. It is possible to maintain a 40 years old airframe in the air without any safety issues. I don't know the background of this company but they might be well maintained. Anyway, it is a very sad en...

Re: Cargo B financial woes ?

I can hardly see how a move from BRU to LGG can cost 12 million euros to a company. Did they have a long term contract with Brussels Airport or with Aviapartner Brussels that they were forced to pay penalties ? All the offices could have stayed in Brucargo (dispatch, finance, administration, sales, ...

Cargo B financial woes ?

Good afternoon everybody, Another aviation forum website (pprune) claims that Cargo B is on the edge of bankruptcy. They say that both airplanes are in Amsterdam and that all crews currently outside Belgium are being flown commercial back to Belgium. All flights have been cancelled till further noti...

Good morning, @ Desert Rat and Newfoundland I think you see evil everywhere. I'm French and I did not feel offended a single second by this trip report. I don't agree with the fact that French companies are always on strike but I see this remark more as a cliché then a "racist" (word is to...

Re: Cargo B moves to LGG

New carrier in LGG : El Al (from Amsterdam and Luxembourg) and Ukraine International. This is maybe not so many but it is a beginning. Ethiopian went there for ops flexibility. Without curfew, they would have stayed in BRU. Why did Cargo B not begin in LGG ? Only their management can answer this que...

Re: Cargo B moves to LGG

Hello, I normally don't take part to those discussions but I begin to be a little fed up with those useless politics oriented discussions between Flemish and Waloon. Flanders has also an full freight airport in its territory. It is along the coast and it is named OST. It is open 24/7 as well and it ...
