Re: Thomas Cook ceases trading; UK CAA launches giant programme to fly its customers home

THCB: apparently bankruptcy for some entities, and WCO (protection against debtors) for the main Belgian company. So, I guess that means that they paid out some (or all) of the available funds in the Belgian companies already to TC UK in the past year... If you add those funds to the already paid o...

Re: Thomas Cook ceases trading; UK CAA launches giant programme to fly its customers home

So, besides the above mentioned Thomas Cook branches it seems the goose with the golden eggs in Belgium is a holding company called Thomas Cook Financial Services Belgium NV which generated a net profit of over 10 million EUR last financial year and is currently sitting on 145 million EUR in unused ...

Re: Belgian Air Force news

Hello Rumours say a Falcon7X will be added to the Belgian air force fleet. But like I said RUMOURS! Greetings, Well the cat is out the bag. BAF will acquire 2 Dassault Falcon 7X aircrafts on a 12-year dry lease contract. There was no official announcement of it but the media figured it out and defe...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX crashes between Addis Ababa and Nairobi - impact on Boeing 737 MAX

Why? Is a ferry flight less dangerous? The stupid EU pencil-pushers didn't even allow the aircraft that were already enroute to return to their base. No but the potential for a big amount of casualties is reduced. I agree that they've should have let airborne planes continue to their final d...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX crashes between Addis Ababa and Nairobi

I guess Belgium will follow with the airspace closure for the MAX also when those 2 planes are back at BRU? Probably the reason why they didn't follow France, The Netherlands, etc...

On the other hand, they are going to strike anyway so they'll close parts of it this night regardless :D

Re: Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX crashes between Addis Ababa and Nairobi

According to the latest rumours EASA is thinking about following the British CAA and could be ready to issue a blanket ban for the 737 MAX in Europe. Later today a statement is expected. If EASA is indeed ready to do so I think FAA might have to follow wetter they like it or not, more and more count...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX crashes between Addis Ababa and Nairobi

I think it might be a good idea to have more thorough inspections before granting an type certificate to a new plane, certainly when it's a supplemental one like with the MAX. It's become clear that the MAX is not just a (major) update of the previous versions but that it was altered quite a bit (ne...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX crashes between Addis Ababa and Nairobi

Now UK CAA has grounded the 73M as well. Am I the only one in thinking the aviation authorities know more than we do? I cant be just public pressure? I'm starting to think the same, It's one thing that a small country grounds a particular plane but it's another thing when a major (and upcoming) cou...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX crashes between Addis Ababa and Nairobi

If this continues like that TUI Belgium/Netherlands might be the sole company flying the birds in this region since their sister company in the UK can't fly them either due to the blanket ban of the CAA in the UK.

Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2019

To make optimal use of its fleet during the less busy winter season in Europe, TUI fly Belgium is operating charter flights from Canada and the United States. A total of eight Belgian registered aircraft (and Belgian crews) are flying tourist goers to and from exotic – and warmer – destinations. ht...

And remember STD is push-back time, whilst ATD is take-off time.

Moreover, any delay listed in these tables is meaningless anyway since there is no indication of their cause.
STD = Scheduled Time of Departure
ATD = Actual Time of Departure

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

As if the name Eurowings was better known than Brussels Airlines in Scandinavia, Madrid, USA and Asia  Not so long ago I was talking to an American friend about SN and the fact that it might become Eurowings. The first thing he said to me: Eurowings, wasn't that the airline with the suicidal p...
