Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

I have made more specific researches about the B31 - B33 triple gate at BRU. Informations collected from last year but interesting. Learning about an issue. As a reminder, the whole infrastructure has cost a 6 millions € budget. A confirmed chinese technology used wordwide and for the first time at...

As long as Air Belgium choses to fly from CRL, I don't see a bright future for them. Air Belgium seems more like a political project than a proper airline. Too bad.
They needed a reason to extend the runway, don't think anyone else was candidate to play such a role.

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

I got some exciting news about 2020 but i’m not 100% sure since it’s viavia I heard it from someone who knows someone working for BAC. Apparently Brussels Airport is working hard behind the scenes to attract new airlines! -we can welcome soon Asiana! -Singapore Airlines interested in starting a rou...

Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

As from Monday 12th August 2019: major road works on the R11 Krijgsbaan Borsbeek-Wilrijk, just next to Antwerp Airport: http://wegenenverkeer.be/node/6588 That should have no impact at all on the airport or its passengers: the terminal is on the other side, so from either way to the airport, you do...

What about cargo? I don't know whether FIH is a route where a lot of cargo goes along too, bringing some revenue for SN? If a route isn't profitable with pax alone, a nice cargo deal might tip the balance?
Did they create cargo capacities in CRL? (handling and whs)

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

For those who say that Brussels Airport doesn't invest enough: "investment expenses" BAC in 2018: 176.900.000 € (source: National Bank Belgium). Nobody stated the contrary... offices and shops to let aren’t built for free... Stij 2 firehouses, multiple de-icing trucks, snow clearing equipement etc....

Re: Estonian Air bankrupt - Replaced by Nordica

I just received an e-mail from LOT informing me the flight number changed. So far, all Nordica flights already had a LOT flight number (LO8XXX) Now it's LO2977/LO2978 iso LO8177/LO8178 So, I wonder what's the logic behind it? Or a particular reason? Timing and aircraft stay the same Airlines use nu...

SN expects 11 weekly flights as from Winter 19.
I do hope they will not fly just 11 flights per week. Or is this a new route?

Re: Strikes affecting Belgian airports in 2019

The figures for 2018 (Swissport Belgium nv/sa) haven't been published yet, but the losses over 2016 and 2017 show that there is little room for more staff and/or a salary increase, as the trade unions demand: result: 2017 : - 4.745.162 € result 2016 : - 6.455.069 € So it's bad management. Or maybe ...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU): Star Alliance and Oneworld under one roof?

I don't know how is market between Brussels and Brazil, but if a carrier starts a cargo service, that dosen't mean, that they will start passengers service. Both Qatar Cargo and Emirates Cargo serve some destinations only with a cargo service. Also, an airline can serve a big market in term of pax,...

Re: Hi Fly, first ACMI company to offer the Airbus A380 for wet-lease

Hi Fly plans to grow its fleet to 100 aircraft over the next 10 years, including adding more A380s. More A380s? They barely use the only one they have now. Maybe it will be like the A340. Regular operators don't like it but ACMI operators have other variables they like more in these undesirable pla...

A source states that Atlas Air will no longer operate to BRU. Their last flight would have been on May 14. Ethiopian Cargo is mentioned to take over the traffic. It's sad to lose another 747 operator, after also Saudia completely disappeared from BRU earlier this year. Did Saudia leave Brussels com...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

One just has to browse through the Skeyes press releases to find proof it was more about bonuses then “reducing workload”: 1. Skeyes: “ De premies voor nachtdiensten wordt aangepast”. Translated: more bonuses for night shifts. Aangepast translates as adjusted, so,unless specified, it can be both up...
