Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024

Brussels Airlines can finally demonstrate its strength to Africa Cheap long-haul flights, assistance to subsidiaries or regional transport: Lufthansa has had many half-hearted ideas for SN. Today, there is a plan with substance: SN must develop Africa for the group. The continent is seen as the las...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

BRU shouldn't go after the likes of AMS, CDG, FRA,...

I flew twice from AMS and it was horendous. Overcrowded, long walks, passing security took forever...

BRU should focus on an top notch customer experience and thus also be selective at what airlines fly from the airport at busy hours.

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

Thank you, Steven. What alternative options does Bru Airport have for development? The existing terminal, with its offices and LCT, seems impractical. Expanding the A-pier appears promising, but what's the progress on these plans? Are there additional options in Brussels, given BRU's current capaci...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Again, you have to see the big picture as the brand is not independent. The strategy within the group is to simply operations and thus increase their efficiency - therefore SN aims to reduce complexity to two aircraft models operated on its own; A320 and A333. If on niche routs money can be earned ...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

The permit is in for indefinite time. There will be no ban on nightflights. As from 2032, the max amount of flights per year will be 240.000. Also more silent weekendnights as from that year and a reduction of 30% of the most loudest flights during the night. There are many other conditions but the...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

By the EWD tomorrow we know if the permit will be prolonged and which will be the extra conditions. EWD? And that permit is a certainty. The Flemish government will not block the second economic pool of our country, esp. minister Demir and her party. My guess that - if their are any - extra conditi...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

For the moment not or nothing in near future. There are more places in that area where buildings were demolished and was just used as parking for staff afterwards. Thanks for the info. Are there other buildings that will also be demolished ? Great to see Soviet buildings disappear. This whole stree...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

When Brussels implements its expansion plans, is there a chance that Rynair will return to the low-cost terminal? There is no low-cost terminal at Brussels Airport. Only walk-in gates at the minus one level of the airport which can be used by any airline, SN/FR/etc... It's actually level 0 ;)

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Interesting article on Luchtvaartnieuws today. SN would like to receive more A320neo's in the future. They are also looking for the replacement of the A330. The A330neo and B787-9 are in the picture. The A330neo is however not in the current LH group fleet. More chance for the B787-9 I think Would ...

Re: BRU Summer 2024: news, new routes, airlines

About the UK, Brussels Airlines will have 4 flight a day to London Heathrow with A320/A320neo, It was 3 times daily during S23, 4 times daily with a combination A319/A320/A320neo during W23/24 so it's quite an increase here. Yes, but not an increase to be excited about. The sole purpose of this ext...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

BRU is a disgrace. One of the worst airports in Europe. Only the Connector and Pier A look more or less up to date. Rest is Sub standard. Ugly. Obsolete.Dirty. Worst ? Over 25 000 reviews on Google. Not 1 or 10 reviews but over 25 000. Average : 4/5 . I think enough to have real opinions abt ...

“Everything that is exaggerated is insignificant” said Prince Talleyrand Perigord, probably to Napoleon. Standstill means decline. Dionisios to Astmadatis But it's not a standstill in 1996 they delivered A pier and main building the B came just after it's almost new and these are quality buildings ...

Re: BRU Winter 2025 - 2026: news, new routes, airlines

And, don't forget, to have the border control already at BRU for the States. Question only is when the government will give green light to set it up Which government? Belgian? US? Canada? Will BRU become a UA base if they do BRU-BOS? Only Belgian and US. But it's more the US government who has to b...

But at this moment the negotiations are on the way with UA, and the governments of course, to open the routes from Boston and Houston to BRU. And here we go... BBL (Bond Beter Leefmilieu) strongly opposes the permit for Brussels Airport, they criticise the lack of ambition of BAC to evolve towards a more ecologicaly friendly operation, and not caring about people living around the airport. They lament about the rising nitrogen exaust due ...

What are the proposal of this permit and wich organisation has to sign? One of the most important items in the renewing of the environmental permit is the MER, Milieu Effecten Rapport. Re: BRU Winter 2023-2024: news, new routes, airlines

A Pier West, like any other plan for improvement or expansion will not happen within the next 10 years. BRU is indeed condemned to an eternal-looking status-quo. It would be recommendable to improve P B-Pier arrivals. The dead boring corridor, the long queues at immigration, the longlong waiting at...

Re: BRU Winter 2023-2024: news, new routes, airlines

If I were BRU and wanted to attract more l/h airlines i would! BRU puts too much money in fancy offices and parkings for...
