Re: Norwegian in 2018
Norwegian is pulling the plug on its remaining flights from Edinburgh to the US, blaming the Scottish government for failing to cut air passenger duty. Norwegian also ends Belfast to New York and Boston flights. Long-haul low-cost in trouble? Unfortunately as the Scottish Government is a minority G...

Re: 2017 Ostend-Bruges Airport (OST) latest news
I hope this route to the UK actually comes to fruition. Hopefully it will include a connection to Scotland. I have stopped going to Oostende from Ayrshire in Scotland because not only is it too difficult to get to (two planes and two trains) but every time I go something always goes wrong - train st...

Re: 2016 Ostend-Bruges airport (OST/EBOS) latest news
sn26567 Maybe if an airline was able to offer connections at either Ostend or a Scottish airport instead of just a point to point service the route might be more successful. Low cost airlines are very slowly moving away from only point to point flights. Easyjet has been in talks with various airline...

Re: 2016 Ostend-Bruges airport (OST/EBOS) latest news
Do you know if they will replace the Rome flights and fly to somewhere else instead? I'm still hoping that Jetairfly or some other airline will start flying between Scotland and Ostend.

Re: Ryanair in 2016
I think I'll definately use the bus the next time I go to Ostend, which won't be until November at the earliest. Hopefully Flibco will extend the service to Ostend.

Re: Ryanair in 2016
I live in Dreghorn, between Prestwick and Glasgow airports. I know about the bus and it is very good value for money. If there is a bus and train that connects with the flight from Glasgow then I would definately use the bus. It would be better if the bus continued on to Ostend. When Ryanair starts ...

Re: Ryanair in 2016
You have to admit that Ostend is very poorly connected to the UK. For me to get to Ostend from where I live in Scotland I have to get two planes to Zaventem and then at least one train to Ostend. The trains are very unreliable and in the past two years when I have arrived at Zaventem the train staff...

Re: Ryanair in 2016
I'm surprised that the flights to Glasgow International are only twice weekly. When Ryanair operated flights from Glasgow Prestwick to Brussels Charleroi the flights were daily. I flew that route many times and the flights were always completely full or with only two or three seats empty. I don't th...

Re: Ryanair in 2015
Flying from Prestwick to Malaga this evening i couldn't believe my eyes when I saw some lazy disgusting idiot opposite me throwing his rubbish onto the aisle. For goodness sake the cabin crew come round several times during the flight for passengers to put their rubbish in a large bin bag. I've work...

Thanks for that Flyair10. Things are starting to look up for Ostend Airport. Hopefully this will lead to more routes, airlines and passengers and hopefully some routes to the UK / Scotland.

Re: 2015 Ostend-Bruges airport (OST/EBOS) latest news
Carlisle may not be a likely destination for Ostend but never say never! From my home in Dreghorn I'd be willing to drive to Carlisle if there was a direct flight to Ostend but from what I hear, Manchester is a more likely destination along with one of the three Central Scotland airports. The Flemis...

Re: 2015 Ostend-Bruges airport (OST/EBOS) latest news
Ostair I know that Ostend Airport management and the Flemish tourism minister (Minister Bourgeois I think) have been trying hard for sometime to attract an airline to operate flights to the UK so we can live in hope! Anyway judging by September's figures it looks like things are slowly improving at ...

Re: Ryanair in 2015
I wish Ryanair would restart daily flights from Glasgow Prestwick to Brussels (either Zaventem or Charleroi). The flights to and from Edinburgh aren't daily and the times are unsuitable for me. I flew from Prestwick to Charleroi many times and the flights were always completely full or very nearly f...

Traffic figures August 2015
http://www.ost.aero/en/passengers/news/ ... ugust-2015
I see passenger numbers in August are down on the same month last year. I would have thought the extra summer holiday flights and also the new route to Barcelona would have had the opposite effect.

Re: Ryanair in 2015
I arrived at Malaga airport over two hours before my flight to Prestwick only to be faced with massive luggage check in queues. I have been in the queue for well over an hour now and it will be at least another 15 minutes before I get to the front. In over 20 years of flying I have NEVER seen anythi...

Re: Ryanair in 2015
The company that owns Ostend Airport and the Flemish Government are trying to attract an airline to operate flights between Ostend and the UK. About ten years ago I flew with Ryanair twice from Prestwick to Ostend with a change of aircraft at Stansted. Unfortunately the Stansted to Ostend route only...

Re: Ryanair in 2015
Ostair I totally agree with you. There are also no direct flights from the west coast of Scotland to Belgium. When I go to Ostend I either have to drive 2 hours to Edinburgh airport or drive to Glasgow airport and change aircraft at Heathrow. Belgium is very poorly connected to Scotland. When Ryanai...
