Re: EBSU Saint Hubert Air Base

A lot of completely non military or aviation related activities are being held at EBSU. e.g motorbike/car races, scouts camps, nature promoting organisations etc... Very strange indeed. The place must be very quiet causing an important local game population. When,in 2007, the belgian soaring nationa...

Re: US Airways A320 ditches in Hudson River - pax and crew OK !

Another pilot, a Belgian one, managed to safely land his Boeing 737-800 after a bird strike that damaged both engines: captain Frédéric Colson flying with Ryanair and based in Hahn saved the life of 172 passengers on 10 November 2008 after the plane hit a cloud of birds shortly after take-off from ...

Re: US Airways A320 ditches in Hudson River - pax and crew OK !

My feeling was confirmed the captain being a glider-instructor. It confirms the importance gliding experience is able to contribute to overall airmanship. Gliding is considered being one of the purest ways to feel and master an airplane's behavior. No surprise lots of well known glider champions are...

Delta to fly from ATL to ROB (via SID)

Reaction from this article: https://www.aviation24.be/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=38254 Can somebody tell me which airline flies from KJD to GSQ ? And from BVZ to MGS ? Ok , these destination codes are fake !! You have to be a real 'professional' if you want to understand these sort of language. ...

Re: Belgian airforce Training areas

Gliders flying in the Ardens are limited to a maximum altitude of 4500 ft QNH, except during the WE. It's hard to beleive but the only place where you meet military traffic is ... yes exactly in that tiny layer !! They prefer flying there because (as I've been told by a F16 pilot) they are out of co...

By the way, I still wonder if British Midland is also loosing money on their 50 extra wetleases
Your comparison means British Midland also grounds 50 of their own airplanes !!! Because if not, your statement doesn't make any sense.
