Oman Air business class experience- some thoughts

Hi y’all, As posted here https://www.aviation24.be/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=58997 a couple of months ago, I had the opportunity to find two business class tickets (CDG-MCT-BKK-MCT-BKK) for me and my wife at the incredible price of 1080 EUR p/pax. What follows is not a flight report (currently ...

Oman Air business class - any experience ?

Dear forummembers,

yesterday I managed to book two return flights CDG-BKK via Muscat on WY.
I booked two business class tickets at the rather incredible price of 1099 EUR / pax  .
Any idea what I should expect ? All 4 sectors are flown on the Dreamliner it seems ...?

Re: Finnair : Business class experiences ?

Thanks Stij,
and yes , it IS quick : total flying time BRU-BKK is approx. 14.30 hrs (so comparable to the smoothest QR or EK connections at DOH or DXB respectively). Very tempted indeed.

Finnair : Business class experiences ?

Good morning dear Forummembers, I am about to book a trip for my wife and myself to Bangkok, and instead of the usual ME3, I've found a rather attractive looking offer from AY to fly BRU-HEL-BKK in business class for 1610 EUR (price for return flight). Cheaper than what QR, EK and EY charge (or TK f...

JFK 19/3 Snow and de-icing

Finally found the time to put some pics (poor quality but the weather was really bad) of de-icing activity @ JFK during heavy snowfall on Friday evening 19/3. Pics taken while waiting to board SN502 to BRU... IMG_0117 (3).JPG IMG_0119 (2).JPG IMG_0132 (2).JPG IMG_0123 (2).JPG IMG_0126 (2).JPG IMG_01...

Re: TG: BRU not profitable, could be axed

I just received their new prices for the low season. Yes, I know that you can get 150 € - 200 € cheaper. But +- 650 € with TG, come on guys, this is a give away. Yups, and I purchased a ticket for my wife yesterday - first via TG's Brussels office call center, where a friendly lady told me that fli...

Re: Thai Airways contrail over Hungary

Impressive ! I'm a total zero when it comes to equipment used for this kind of wonderful spotting activity. So forgive me my question : how do you make sure you can align your telescope so accurately and so long with the traject the plane is flying (at cruising speed it would seem) ?

Re: Airbus A380 news

I booked BKK-DOH-BRU for March-April 2015 on the A380 to DOH and the 787 to BRU all in J :D I booked the same trip (also in business) two months ago, departure Dec 27, return flight Jan 23. At that time, there was no mention yet of the A380 flying the route. I checked again and it seems that while ...

Re: 787 experiences?

I flew QR's 787 early september in business class (DOH-BRU). QR's 787 business class cabin has the so-called "outward herringbone" layout, in a 1-2-1 setup. I had a window seat and what I didn't like was the fact that you're sitting in a kind of "diagonal" angle to the window (an...

3D Airport views on FR24/Google Earth : which airports?

Hi all, I discovered today that when zooming in on BRU airport via Flightradar 24 (and hence, Google Earth), you get that kind of "3D" look which makes identifying parked or taxiing planes a lot easier (for instance, you can clearly see a Jet Airways 738 ferry flight parked near the Rotond...

Airlines still flying over Iraq (and Syria)

Hi all, allthough I have not seen any post on this (or on other forums), it seems (when looking at Flightradar24) that QR has finally followed EK's move to avoid flying over the conflict zones in Iraq. All flights to Europe (both inbound and outbound) seem to fly over either Iran (central, eastern a...

Re: Holiday air travel this Summer ?

Qatar Airways to Colombo, Sri Lanka, via Doha. Should you be flying on the 17th of August, we might meet each other : flying QR to BKK via DOH that day. ;) We shall indeed be on the same flight to DOH on 17AUG :) Tell me how I shall be able to recognise you. Now that's a coincidence :P I'll send yo...

HI Capetown: I cannot tell you exactly what kind of meeting the Ethiopian delegation (govt. aircraft that is) is attending but it seems to be quite a decent meeting. So far I know about following aircraft being present on Monday: - German Airforce Global Express 7000 (14+03) - Croatia Airforce Chal...
