Re: EDI-AMS-WAW with KLM 07/09/20

Thanks for the comment Andre. The KLM Embraer 190s are the only ones I have experienced so I have based my opinion of the type on them. If another airline had a better seat to window placement I would probably change my view because that is my big "gripe" with flying in the aircraft. The legroom see...

EDI-AMS-WAW with KLM 07/09/20

I booked the holiday in December 2019, before COVID had even been heard of, but it was touch and go whether we would actually get our trip because of the virus. I had booked our "usual" flights, but a couple of weeks before we were due to go I was emailed by KLM to say that the AMS-WAW flight had be...

Re: Looking back to 2019: one year of flights

Mine is very bland in comparison. Apart from the stress of being given incorrect information on the Edinburgh Airport "live" departures website, leading me to think I would lose my holiday, my flying year was very quiet, just the now-usual KLM flights to Warsaw via Amsterdam. Next year will be a lit...

Re: Where will you fly in 2020 ?

All my flights now booked for 2020.

EDI-AMS-WAW on 7th September with KLM.
WAW-WRO on 10th September with LOT (new airline, new aircraft type and new airport for me).
WAW-AMS-EDI on 14th September with KLM.

Q400 seats

Is anyone familiar with the seats in the Q400? I have my first flight in one next year in seat 4A. Is the view likely to be good or do the seats have a poor window alignment like they do in the Embraer 190? In the Embraer the seats were "between" windows so I had to lean right forward or look right ...

Re: Where will you fly in 2020 ?

Nothing definite confirmed yet but hoping:
EDI-AMS-WAW with KLM.
WAW-WRO with LOT.
WAW-AMS-EDI with KLM.

Edit - as of 19th November I have one definite flight. LO3853 from WAW-WRO. My first flight in a Q400, my first flight with LOT and my first visit to Wroclaw.

I don't know why the Air Belgium A340 was in Warsaw on both occasions, their website doesn't mention serving Warsaw. Quite curious about that one :-)
Air Belgium is operating New York flights for LOT while its 787s are grounded with engine issues.
Thank you for explaining Andre :-)

Re: WAW-AMS-EDI with KLM 09/09/19

Great report again, Louise. You were lucky to see the 100th Airbus delivered to Wizz Air, sporting a special livery. And in your film you caught the Air Belgium A340 again. In Warsaw I mean. As for your snacks, KLM clearly has it wrong. Airlines normally serve different meals on outbound (from AMS)...

WAW-AMS-EDI with KLM 09/09/19

After the stress and hassle of our outward flights the week before, we had a wonderful holiday in Warsaw at my favourite hotel. I always hate it when the holiday ends as that means no more flights for another year, but holiday weeks always pass quickly. KL1364 WAW-AMS We arrived at WAW in very good ...

Re: EDI-AMS-WAW on KLM 02/09/19 Strike and Stress!

Thanks for your comments Andre  I knew nothing about the strikes until I received a text from KLM saying there may be delays to some flights. By that time we were in the departure area at EDI. I was very relieved to get to the gate for our flight to Warsaw and equally relieved when our hold...

EDI-AMS-WAW on KLM 02/09/19 Strike and Stress!

Once again we were to fly to Warsaw via Amsterdam with KLM and, like 2018, we chose to fly from Edinburgh on account of their longer transfer time in AMS. The longer transfer time was to prove an advantage in 2019! We arrived at EDI on 1st September and checked into the Doubletree by Hilton hotel in...

Edinburgh is a wonderful airport. I was there recently (though I don't like the "live" flight arrivals and departures on their website!)

Re: KLM and/or AMS Amsterdam Schiphol Airport - Latest news 2019

Is there any more info about this https://www.independent.co.uk/travel/ne ... 96586.html ?

I flew on that KLM 737 in 2017 and I just wondered if it will fly again or just be scrapped?

Hello  EDI is a great airport, I flew from there last year when we went to Warsaw. It's probably the best airport in Britain.

BMI knows this. Yes ther...

Re: Looking back to 2018: one year of flights

I experienced a new airport - EDI and a new aircraft type - the Embraer 190. EDI was excellent, I was impressed and booked to fly from there in 2019. I was less impressed with the Embraer 190 though - apart from the 2-2 seating I wasn't over keen on the type.

Re: Where will you fly in 2019 ?

EDI-AMS-WAW
WAW-AMS-EDI with KLM. Expected aircraft - three 737-800 and an Embraer 190.

Update - now it's four 737-800s and no Embraer 190 (and I'm glad about that  ).
