Re: EDI-AMS-WAW on KLM 02/09/19 Strike and Stress!

Thanks for your comments Andre  I knew nothing about the strikes until I received a text from KLM saying there may be delays to some flights. By that time we were in the departure area at EDI. I was very relieved to get to the gate for our flight to Warsaw and equally relieved when our hold...

EDI-AMS-WAW on KLM 02/09/19 Strike and Stress!

Once again we were to fly to Warsaw via Amsterdam with KLM and, like 2018, we chose to fly from Edinburgh on account of their longer transfer time in AMS. The longer transfer time was to prove an advantage in 2019! We arrived at EDI on 1st September and checked into the Doubletree by Hilton hotel in...

Re: BRU-EDI & EDI-BRU

Edinburgh is a wonderful airport. I was there recently (though I don't like the "live" flight arrivals and departures on their website!)

Re: KLM and/or AMS Amsterdam Schiphol Airport - Latest news 2019

Is there any more info about this https://www.independent.co.uk/travel/ne ... 96586.html ?

I flew on that KLM 737 in 2017 and I just wondered if it will fly again or just be scrapped?

Hello  EDI is a great airport, I flew from there last year when we went to Warsaw. It's probably the best airport in Britain.

Nice video  I have always wanted to fly in the CRJ. I love WAW, I am flying there again in September. Hope you enjoyed your trip to Poland  .

Re: Flybmi ceases operations

Customers who have travel insurance should contact their travel insurance provider to understand if they are eligible to claim for cancelled flights and the procedure for doing so. https://www.flybmi.com/ There is no travel insurance for cancelled flights due to bankruptcy. BMI knows this. Yes ther...

Re: Looking back to 2018: one year of flights

I experienced a new airport - EDI and a new aircraft type - the Embraer 190. EDI was excellent, I was impressed and booked to fly from there in 2019. I was less impressed with the Embraer 190 though - apart from the 2-2 seating I wasn't over keen on the type.

I saw that same aircraft in WAW in September. Nice video.

Re: Where will you fly in 2019 ?

EDI-AMS-WAW
WAW-AMS-EDI with KLM. Expected aircraft - three 737-800 and an Embraer 190.

Update - now it's four 737-800s and no Embraer 190 (and I'm glad about that  ).

Re: Where will you fly in 2019 ?

Hoping for another EDI-WAW, though don't know which airline yet - hopefully KLM but will consider others if the connection times are too short.

WAW-AMS-EDI with KLM 10/09/18

We had an excellent week in Warsaw - the weather was warm and sunny (apart from alot of rain one night after we'd returned to our hotel and some cloud on one morning). While we were there we had our first proper trip on a Polish train when we had a day in Łódź, which was enjoyable. As usual with hol...

Thanks for the report Comet! We have missed you! Is it ok to publish your trip report on our main page? And - between 0 and 5 stars - how much would you rate your trip ? Thanks Luchtzak  Of course it's ok to publish my trip report on the main page, thanks for asking me :D I think for my ra...

Re: EDI-AMS-WAW with KLM 03/09/18

Very nice illustrated report, Louise. Keep them coming :) Trams to British airports are not an exception: earlier this year, I took a tram at Manchester airport to reach the city. The special LOT livery is to celebrate the 100 years of Polish independence. Two aircraft sport that livery: a 737 and ...

EDI-AMS-WAW with KLM 03/09/18

Once again I booked flights with KLM for our annual holiday. This time I chose a departure from EDI, as this had a longer transfer time in AMS than KLM flights from other British airports. This was the first time we had flown from EDI. I was very impressed with EDI. There was a tram to the airport f...

Re: Alicante-Brussels with Vueling, delayed by ATC

Those ATC restrictions in AMS are a real pain. That is a nightmare for passengers who are transferring to other flights there. We had the same problem inbound to AMS from WAW yesterday and several passengers missed flight connections because of it.

Re: Any experience of EDI?

Thanks for the answers. Our flight is at 09:10 so we will be in the lounge early in the morning. A few reviews I've read say that GLA is better but last time we flew from GLA (albeit a few years ago) the place had gone downhill alot.

Any experience of EDI?

We have our first flights from EDI (Edinburgh) in September. Does anyone have any recent experience of the airport? Is there any decent viewing in the departures area? Is it worth booking lounge access? I read reviews about EDI on review sights but they are not written with enthusiasts in mind and j...

Re: Travelling BRU-HAJ-BRU on Brussels Airlines subcontractors: bmi regional & CityJet

Great report  I always liked flying on bmi - their inflight catering was dire at first but did improve over the years, and the legroom was always reasonable. I have never boarded the ERJ through a boarding bridge though, wherever I've been flying from. (Will the boarding bridges even go so ...
