Re: BRU: Schengen Bus Arrivals drop-off at pier A - why?
My guess: I think they do this so that the passengers can spend their money in concourse A in the shops or restaurants. Because if you drop them at the main terminal, they just pick up their luguagge and leave the airport. I absolutly don't know if this is the reason. However I indeed remember in 20...

Re: Brussels Airlines joining Star Alliance in December 2009
I've found a very interesting article on the same site (http://www.eturbonews.com/13234/star-alliance-goes-west-brussels-airlines). It's an interview with Brussels Airlines' Managing Director Bernard Gustin. They are seriously planning to open 2 US-destinations. The destinations would propably be Ne...

Re: Is the airDC project dead?
There will be more direct flights between Brussels Airport and Africa. Still, in Africa, there is a huge need of a safe airline who offers intra-African services. I don't believe Brussels Airlines will again start a cooperation with Hewa Bora, and risking to have to postpone the project again.

Re: Brussels Airlines to join Star Alliance in December
This entry is very good news for Brussels Airlines, the Belgian passenger and the entire Belgian aviation. There hasn't been communicated about any expansion. The expansion is still being examined and when the decision is made there will be official communication about it. At this moment, there isn'...

Re: BRUSSELS AIRLINES to join STAR ALLIANCE in December
The b.there magazine from December 2009 carries the Star Alliance logo allready. The picture of Eddy Merckx is also in the magazine. There's also some general information about Star Alliance in this edition.

Re: IMPORTANT message: Brussels Airport
I can understand the frustration of the Brussels Airport Company management if some news or rumors, correct or incorrect, is leaked in the press or on forums. But if this is 'secret' information, this means only employees from Brussels Airport Company can know about this. So the news/rumors is leake...

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa
Well the plan is to dump 3 SN B737's by the end of the year, or the beginning of next year. However it isn't sure they are going to be replaced, because of the current economic climate. I don't think Lufthansa will chose Boeing for the short-medium haul. At this moment Lufthansa has 52 orders for Ai...

Re: EU to give green light to LH/SN soon!
Don't forget that Continental Airlines is a future-Star member and is offering a daily flight between Brussels and New York Newark. US Airways (Philadelphia) & United Airlines (Washington) are already flying between Brussels and USA, so possibly those airlines will increase their frequencies/des...

Re: Brussels Airlines' loadfactor
Fact is that the economical crise will also have influence on the African network. In Africa the 'Business' destinations like Kinhsasa will suffer from it. For example: the mining sector in Congo is completly lame. But Brussels Airlines is offering more than just Business destinations in Africa, lik...

The European Commission has postponed their decision about Lufthansa buying Brussels Airlines till 26 January 2009. This because Lufthasa has made concessions to the European Commission that can be important for their investigation. No details were given about which concessions. Press: http://www.lu...
