Germanwings - Eurowings future

Good afternoon all, I've read contradictory information on the future of the Germanwings brand. Will it be phased out and entirely replaced by the Eurowings brand? As described here: http://worldairlinenews.com/2015/03/26/will-lufthansa-retire-the-germanwings-brand-earlier/ Or will Germanwings focus...

Re: Swiss to decide on A340 replacement in 6-12 months

On the other hand, the 777 is already present in the LH Group fleet with Austrian and they'll double their fleet by 2014 (from 4 currently to 8 at the end of 2014). Sorry RoMax, from where do you have the information that Austrian will double their 777 fleet (if I understood you correctly!)? Please...

Lovely city and a gateway to inner Fujian province (eg Yongding County) - I was there barely six weeks ago.

Re: Changing planes in Moscow

Connection in SVO is fine, however problems tend to be rude/unhelpful staff, (possibly) long connection times and very high prices, like EUR 8 for a bottle of water! No visa required if international connection. For an experienced traveller however who know how to find a gate it isn't a problem. In ...

Easyjet to trial volcanic ash detection system

Easyjet has unveiled a system that it says will allow airlines to safely fly around ash clouds. It involves infra-red technology that allows pilots to see the damaging particles up to 62 miles ahead. The theory is that a pilot can then change course and continue to fly safely. More info: http://news...

Re: Ryanair luggage policy

An industry source tells me Ryanair are now seriously looking at scraping checked-in baggage all together. So few passengers are checking in luggage, revenues are marginal, and they still incur the cost of manning checkin desks. In addition, with so few bags in the hold, Ryanair are having problems ...

Not a bad advert, but I wouldn't be impressed with long-haul economy once I'd forked out €1300 for a return flight to Kinshasa and boarded.

Re: Service on Swiss international airlines flights

Hi there, I flew exactly this route in reverse last year (IST-ZRH-BRU). Late afternoon flight left Istanbul with scheduled arrival in ZRH at around 19.00, I expected a decent bite to eat... flight is almost three hours... instead received just a meagre, luke warm savoury pastry. Not impressed. Obivi...

Sure they are A330-300s? I can only see 4 A330-200s (EC-KUO/VS/XB/YC)? Or do you mean new deliveries?

Re: Will EK (Emirates) come to BRU?

Absolutely agree eurojet. Flew DEL-DXB-VIE a couple of weeks ago in Y - very pleasant experience, certainly compares favourably with old LH 747-400s with no PTV, let alone EK's excellent "ICE" system. I must add that I do wonder how a daily flight from VIE-DXB on a 777-300ER is feasible an...
