Re: Boeing 787 Dreamliner maiden flight

I think it is a beautiful plane. It will soon dominate the market.

I don't understand why some of the contributers here can't wake up and acknowledge that Russian aircraft crash on a regular basis? I don't care what this thing looks like or that it is a knock off of a boeing/airbus. I lived in Russia and witnessed first hand a very backwards system thats horribly c...

Have any of you guys ever been to Russia? Their standards are much lower to say the least. Russian aircraft don't compare to Western aircraft.

I disagree on the two engines for the DC-10. The Lockheed Tristar emerged at the same time as a competitor and ETOPS didn't exist at the time.

The A300 was a huge success because it gave Airbus the recognition as a quality airplane builder.

Do we have something like "Airbus A330 or A350 or A380 all you need to know site"? It will be interesting to know about Airbus innovations? Why wait for someone to do it for you? If you are interested, find it and post it. I am not like American students  I don't wait for someone to ...

Well, I'm a bit tired of all these negative articles ......ballistics works two-ways.. No, I have nothing more specific to share except for this: The European context is complex: there are elections next month in France, the Trade Unions have their role to play (next to non-existent in the US...

6 months? 6 years yes! Boeing's answer to the A330 should have come in 2002, not in 2008... Now they have lost 6 long years and although they have gained some momentum with their new program, that will soon be lost when the A350 will be flying. Looking at it on a time line scale, Boeing will have a...

I must admit the most comfortable flight I ever had was also on a United 777. That was before 911 though---American carriers are horrible.

I agree that trying to capture both the 777 and 787 with one plane is the wrong plan. They need a a340 replacement that will counter any future revision of the 777. Airbus is in deep dog poop IMO.

Perhaps Airbus could concentrate on the freighter while it works out the bugs with it's wiring. Unless there are other problems unknown to the public. The A380's capacity cannot be beat in the marketplace. I really hope Airbus doesn't lose anymore orders, not a good situation.
