Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

A little off-topic, I have a small question: Why Brussels Airlines and Air New Zealand do not work together between BRU and Heathrow (codeshare)? If you would booking a flight between BRU and LAX (for example) with Air New Zealand, you need a connection in LHR Terminal 2 (Star Alliance). But the BR...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

With all due respect……………. LOL !!! This is worse than amateur window dressing from BRU. I hope BAC realises the urgency of getting a new departures area ASAP. Apart from the vague, dreamy "2040" plans I haven't seen a single real, tangible plan. The current drop off, taxi and bus area are absolutel...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

Regarding leisure flights, as far as I remember they have an agreement with Thomas Cook as SN is not selling leisure flights on their own. So SN is receiving a fixed price. Correct me in this if I'm wrong But, Leisure flights should be the minor part, even not 50%. Business is the main purpose. Eve...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

There is probably a more logical solution, and more economic ?? AIR BELGIUM If AF, British A, LOT etc. make long term ACMI agreements withAir Belgium, why can't SN. If SN would use one or 2 AB planes for a few weeks, for JFK and IAD, they would probably loose less money (revenue) and certainly cause...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

The next point, comes always back, is the direct connection of the E40 from Leuven to BRU. Working on the airport, I very much welcome the idea. But is there already any idea on how it would run? Because between the airport and the E40 there is some pretty densely populated area. About A-pier West,...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

I mean: same route BRU-MOSCOW is served 21 times by AEROFLOT, only 5 times by BRUSSELS AIRLINES. SN also has connections. SN simply underperforms on many destinations. Long way to go. With such a statement, it's obvious you know the load factor. Can you share that with us please? Same for the yield...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

When you see Moscow is only served 5 times a week ( 21 times by Aeroflot !!), Bordeaux, Bristol, Prague,..hardly once a day. Sheremetyevo International Airport: 45 millions pax per year Brussels Airport: 25 millions pax per year Aeroflot: 254 aircraft Brussels Airlines: 56 Aeroflot has a big presen...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU): Star Alliance, Oneworld and Skyteam under one roof?

Not being a professional... Is it correct there are 4 types of passengers - Unchecked departing passengers - Security checked departing passengers and passengers coming from Schengen flights. - Security and border checked departing passengers - Arriving passengers from non-Schengen flights. Is it c...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Dear OO-SFY we already miss you. A lot. OO-SF Z was planned to run SN515 to IAD today, STD 1015LT According to Flightstats.com, at 0757 this morning, Zulu was replaced by Bravo with ETD 1200. Actual time of departure 1241, two and a half hour late. OO-SF B being "diverted" to IAD, she could not run...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

If SN wants to grow and become a network airline, you would imagine they would work on and develop further their existing destinations. When you see Moscow is only served 5 times a week ( 21 times by Aeroflot !!), Bordeaux, Bristol, Prague,..hardly once a day. Focus on business destinations will cer...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

Schiphol didn't consider a fuel system going down twice as normal, and it wasn't even not their fault, but the supplier AFS. So their CEO apologized on national television and asked himself how they could improve communication to reduce the impact. Applied to Brussels Airport's case, that would be ...

Re: Air Belgium in 2019

Perhaps only a misunderstanding..... And who knows. Perhaps only searching Cathay, with undiscolsed clausules too. Common in business Indeed. Hidden favours ("don't tell anybody !!") are quite usual in Business. I would personnaly have preferred AB at BRU. Let us not call Mr. Terzakis is liar unles...

Re: Air Belgium in 2019

Hi, Short reply : CRL can be very chaotic...long ques, too narrow ,too small hall ways, shortage of seats.... Gates 1-10 with the stairs,. Deboarding from the new terminal... This is realistic... You can say,I say CRL is chaotic...nothing wrong to say that... But I take some cheap fares from CRL......

Terzakis regrets that Brussels Airport welcomed Cathay, a direct competitor, with open arms inste...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

There was indeed again a huge fueling problem this evening at Schiphol. It was not possible to fuel any plane. Also this time was a software problem the issue. The second fuel problem in three weeks time. This can happen everywhere as everything goes automated. Brussels Airport is the only airport ...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU): Star Alliance, Oneworld and Skyteam under one roof?

AMERICAN just announces big expansion in Eastern Europe.

Eg 5 times a week to Krakau !!!

I would have expected something was in for BRU ( Philadelpia ??)

Capital of Europe airport is not getting a lot lately.

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

Newspapers announce that BRU has decided to inverst in a brand new baggage handling system.
Should be ready in 2 years time.
The old one was from the year 2000.

Good news and quick decision.

Re: Air Antwerp, a new airline from Antwerp Deurne airport

It is quite pityful to see that the biggest city of Flanders, which is so proud of its harbour, diamond industry, chemical industry, its mayor ... is not able to make even a small airport liveable; and not able to attract or establish and make survive an airline with business connections. The peope ...
