I say, either Emirates commits to one of the planes or it can do us all a favor and shut the :censored: up.

A350 got a boost from Emirates though, now that they have said the plane is a viable competitor to the Dreamliner. So we can expect future orders from ILFC when the time is right.

The A380 is a game changer, like the 787. These two planes will boost the industry.

The A330 doesn't make money? Compensation sales? yes, a few are. What about all the others. provide the evidence 'cos I haven;t seen any. Good to see all the Boeing cheerleaders on the defensive though. I maintain we should change the title of the thread by adding the word 'shite' to the end of it....

Maybe this parking space will be reserved for A380 VIP. Or, potentially, there will be an a380 order by Aeroflot in the near future? :D

CX, but why would SIA use an A380 to be reconfigured in the way of the 787?

Historically, the Japanese have preferred Boeing, but so has British Airways(now an A380 Customer)

Japanese airports will have to accommodate the a380 soon, so it wouldn't be a bad move for Japanese airlines to invest in the A380.

I think its in line with what’s been discussed. I know Airbus is serious about the A350, but its still on paper, not even firm design. I think they should have solidly targeted the whole 777 range, or the 787 range, not split across them. Lots of changes going on still. BA is waiting just for that ...

The 747 will always be the Queen of the Skies, but as a has been, maybe the 747's best days are behind it. And as you can see by my name, I'm a 747 fan.

I agree with RC-20 on the C-5, it has more capabilities than an A380 type military freighter. As a military plane, the A380 is not one, except for carrying people(Air Force One). Even there I don't see the US government giving a contract to Airbus to build the President's plane. But it would be neat...

grr. you beat me to this story, this is interesting, Emirates will opt out of ordering the 787 based on less thrusts of the engines, and these are non bleed air engines that are supposed to increase thrust. Amazing.

May I remind everyone that Leahy has NEVER said he'd sell 'another' 30 A380s this year, just that he would sell 30 A380s this year. So far, 9 are on the books (4 EK, 3 QR, 2 AF). There are MoUs for 24 more (8 EK, 12 BA, and 4 Grupo Marsans). If the current MoUs are firmed before the end of the year...
