Looks like Houston may be in the future for THY :) Would love to see them here :) http://www.fly2houston.com/0/3917706/0/83280D83283/ “Turkish Airlines has already expressed both privately and publicly that it is rapidly expanding its air route development in the U.S. with Houston being a priority d...

Re: Largest jet order in aviation history
I thought the largest plane order in history was from American Airlines back in the 1980s when they ordered the MD80 series aircraft from McDonnell Douglas, over 200 airframes probably they mean the largest jet order in total investment and not in number of aircraft... This is what i was thinking a...

Yes, today marks the end of an era. All the great perks with Continental are quickly going down the tubes. On the upside, the single carrier number of destinations served greatly improves. Hopefully the culture clash wont create major animousity between the labor groups.

Re: Southwest buys AirTran: a merger of LCCs
This move will for sure keep American Airlines away from Southwest Airlines doorstep American was interested in a possible takeover of Southwest. Would have been an easy integration, fleet wise.

If there is a slip in sched. i will not be suprised. Something of this scale is always prone to delays.

Re: CO/UA merger: a done deal.
Continental just officially announced Houston-Auckland nonstop service using B787. Im curious with this 1. I had heard it would start in 2012, but they are planning on operating it starting in 2011. This is 1 of 12 new longhaul INTL destinations planned to be served nonstop from Houston where the bu...

Re: Virgin Atlantic adds new Las Vegas route from Manchester
This route should be a success for Virgin. Las Vegas is a top destination for people in and around the greater Manchester area. I had some personnal thoughts about purchasing power of people from Manchester to go gambling ( or do what else at Las vegas? ) at Las vegas. And now I receive this messag...

Dont know about additional service on existing routes, but i know they are planning on moving ahead with additional EU and Mideast flying from IAH. This was in the plans before any merger deal and seems to have been placed on a face track. Keep your eyes open

Re: CO/UA merger: almost a done deal?
My last hope to keep Continental alive actually. I hope the Obama administration will halt the merger. Not a chance this will happen, the merger will go through. quote] You are probably correct, but stranger things have happened. I still remember the 'done deal' talk back in 2000 when United was to...

Also would like to add....... I wonder how the Obama Administration will look at this potential combination? He is not so keen on combinations that will hurt unions, workers rights and mergers that will harm competition. I think they would have had an easier time merging during the Bush Administrat...

Re: First Lufthansa A380 getting ready
Its a good looking livery on that bird. Maybe LH will replace the B747-400 with the A380 on the FRA-IAH run. Probably not but 1 can wish More likely to replace the B747-400 with the B747-8 on the FRA-IAH run. That flight has a heavy load factor

Re: CO/UA merger: almost a done deal?
If it happens, i would like to see the Continental culture survive under the United name. The folks at the helm of United have not done a really good job. The nickel and dimeing of passengers and horrible service is not one i wish to see prevail. Continental has been a good corporate citizen in Hous...
