Re: Ryanair at Brussels Airport
It had to happen one day... after Ryanair started flying to main airports such BCN, MAD, BUD, LIS,... BRU had one day to be served by Ryanair. After Sabena's disappearance (now more than 12 years ago), Brussels airport remained stuck around 18 million passengers on a yearly basis. With SN's lack of ...

Jetairfly has suspended Phuket and Bangkok flights
I was surfing to the Jetairfly website tonight and just noticed that I couldn't book a flight to either Phuket or Bangkok anymore. Also on Brussels Airport website, there is no flight to Phuket/Bangkok this Saturday 27/04, the day Jetairfly usually has its flight to Thailand. Have they pulled the ro...

South African Airways in trouble
Seems like SAA is struggling to stay afloat... the government has just given them a loan to keep operations going. The CEO, 2 general managers, the chairwoman and 7 members of the board have promptly resigned. source: http://sg.finance.yahoo.com/news/south-african-airways-ceo-resigns-162255969.html ...

Re: brussels airlines to New York!
A source at the press conference this morning in B-House explained me that ceo mr. Gustin (SN) was happy about the JFK reservations for the first 3 months, "We are on target", dixit Mr. Gustin. - LF 59% (average june, july + aug.) - LF +/-70% (july only) - 50.000 tickets sold for his year...

Well, I think 9W deserves props for taking the effort to register here and trying to help out. Euh, I didn't read that they would help somebody. They ask his details. And now that they register as a member, they don't reply to an open question from another member - me. I wouldn't trust it for a sec...

Re: BRU summer 2012: latest news, routes, airlines
QR for the moment is of no significance between BRU and KGL. Unfortunately for them, their return KGL-DOH-BRU connection has a lousy 9+ hour layover in DOH. DOH is not DXB and passengers who have to wait 8 hours in DOH will not be tempted to make such a long layover. When you look at the real number...

Re: BRU summer 2012: latest news, routes, airlines
Not bad already... :-) Let's hope for another new Longhaul route! Yes, let's hope for some new longhaul announcements soon. Most likely candidates... * All nippon (NH) - Narita (just announced Seattle and San Jose on 787 today, so let's hope BRU follows soon) * Jet Airways (9W) - Bengaluru (resumpt...

Re: Korongo Airlines
Chronicle of a Death Foretold... What an idea to even try to invest in such a corrupt and complete collapsed country ??? A couple of millions invested in a hangar, re-painted aircraft, staff training, and much more... what a sin. Was there even any Risk Management taken into account? But what do you...

Re: Any chance for a new belgian company?
Kabila, indeed there are some good routes left ( bordeaux ? ) but you need more than one bird - you have daily return flights weekly and what with the low hours routes, standing still , nights for maintenance, publicity and crews and sales management aiaiai and rumours that sn will buy some props i...

Re: Any chance for a new belgian company?
There is definitely some room left for a "niche" carrier and for some "niche" routes to and from BRU. If you look at the unexploited Origin and Destination potential/citypairs that have no airlink to/from BRU, I think a niche player can be successful. BRU has a few airlinks to so...

Re: Brussels Airlines to start US service in 2012
If there is one destination that they should consider, it's definitely Houston. And there are some very good reasons for them to pick Houston: 1. No one operates non stop service on the Brussels - Houston - Brussels stretch. No direct competition. 2. Houston is the 4th largest city in the USA, popul...

Re: Will EK (Emirates) come to BRU?
Now that Emirates has announced service from Dubai to Copenhagen (CPH), I believe it can't be long before we hear an annoucement for a DXB-BRU flight... Well, at least that's what we might hope. Let's hope for winter 2011 or summer 2012 at the latest. It is clear that Emirates has started focusing o...

Re: Korongo Airlines
I cannot refrain from repeating myself : when you see what b.air wants to offer its staff (inter alia pilots) that will work for them in FBM, it clearly shows again that b.air management don't know what they are doing and that they are a bunch of amateurs. It would be interesting to know what contr...

Please stop moaning about connections to BKK. Be assured that BRU will have excellent connections to BKK via DOH. Because next to the 6 new cities announced, QR also announced that it will increase DOH BKK from 2 to 3 flights a day. And this is what the connection will be: QR942 Brussels (BRU) 15:35...

Re: BRU summer 2010: latest news, routes, airlines
The second CO flight to EWR, with B757-200, is sitting in the pipeline and it is just probably a matter of time before we hear something official. The slots have definitely been requested and CO is holding a departure slot for a late morning departure from Brussels (somewhere between 11am and 12n) t...
