Re: BRU 08/06/2010 - Lufthansa Airbus A380

There were a lot of other spotter there, probably some other member of this forum as well. Unlucky they didn't visit the website earlier to read that runway 25R would be used full length. Maybe people like me that didn't have the time to read all posts and left in hurry to arrive exactly one minute...

Re: BRU 08/06/2010 - Lufthansa Airbus A380

Sidenote: luckily the Korean 747 spooled his engines on time for the go-round. The forum would have lost a few members if he hadn't :-) Explain pls :) I was standing at the beginning of 25L. I thought it the 380 would land there (my mistake, I know). There were a lot of other spotter there, probabl...

Re: Entry date SN in Star Alliance

When negotiating these contracts, there is more than just the time the bags need to end up in the luggage hall. Prices, cargo-handling, cleaning... They're all a factor when it comes to choosing between own handling or having the job done by a handling company. The passenger-handling (check-in and g...

Re: SN A330 goes tech in DKR

As a neutral reader of this forum, I can only say that Key West was asking a question, and that responses were a bit emotional. No harm there since we're all aviation enthousiast, but no reason to start yelling at each other as well. The fleet size, which will be SN's biggest challenge for the futur...

Re: Abnormalities at BRU / ANR / LGG / CRL / OST

The CTA flight was normally operated by OO-VAS, but due to a technical problem it was replaced by OO-TUC. TUC was back from maintenance in SNN since a few days but broke down in CTA :(

Today's longhaul flight will be operated by Arkefly 763 instead of the infamous TUC.

Re: Cairo flight,pyramids?

I remember a flight with BA from LHR to CAI in 2005. The final approach to CAI (it was already dark) went straight over the three great pyramids of Gizeh. They were beautifully illuminated, a really nice sight. As far as I remember I was seated at the right-hand window...

Re: Jaf flight 103 delayed, today 27/04/2009

The flight was eventually operated by OO-TUC. Tec4Jets managed to get the bird flying again. JAF103 left at 01.20 local time.

CS-TLO arrived ferry from LIS around 23.00 (if I'm not mistaking) and returned ferry at 03.00 local time to LIS as JAF104P.

Re: André Antoine verbiedt minivluchten in Wallonië

Flights between OST and BRU are probably not forbidden since both airports are in the Flemish region, where Mr. Antoine has no jurisdiction.

Re: Alitalia: the end is near

The whole Alitalia process should be scrapped, everyone should be fired forthwith and the company allowed to collapse in bankruptcy. Then and only then can the process begin with everyone re-applying for their jobs, all seniority to begin anew, and everyone signing an agreement to forgo union organ...

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

I should hope that when Brussels Airlines stops codesharing with British Airways, that British Airways would continue flying to Brussels airport. Why wouldn't BA continue flying to BRU? They take a good share of the BRU-LON market and take a lot of connecting PAX via LHR to the rest of the world...

Re: *Actual* luggage weight limits

I don't see the problem for average travelers. When I went to Thailand and Cambodia for more than three weeks, I had exactly 17kgs of luggage. Having your laundry done over there costs about a dollar per kilo. So it was better for my budget and better for my back (not having to carry more than 20 ki...

Re: Aviapartner strike

making sure your own company loses money to give your demands some extra force is not smart anyway since they will find a way to get that money back at the expense of the employees. Under Belgian law, employees are only protected in case of a strike, so unfortunately, there are very few other means...

How can anyone choose Ryanair as best budget carrier? Because they are actually a Low Cost Carrier? True, but don't tell me that there are no better LCC's than RYR. It's actually an insult to Easyjet, JetBlue and many others that Ryanair won. The achievement for MOL is more appropriate. Love him or...

How can anyone choose Ryanair as best budget carrier? Easyjet e.g. flies at mayor airports and doesn't treat passengers like kick-the-money-out-'em cattle all the time. And who doesn't remember the TV documentary where everybody could see Ryanair's rather 'loose' interpretation of safety procedures?...
